I was just posting in the Halo Waypoint forums, and I noticed someone had used the spoiler tags. The way they are set out there is much better than they are here.

On Bungie.net...
[spoilers][/spoilers]
Turns into...
[spoilers][/spoilers]

The only way to see the information posted is to quote the user. While this stops any kind of accidental spoils, it's just annoying and kinda drawn out to do. Not really accessible. (Not to mention lots of people don't know the tags even exist)

I'm not sure if you can see this, but the second post down is using the same spoiler tags, which are implemented differently.

Basically all you need to do is to put your mouse over the information and it pops up for you to read.

Now, I know that wouldn't exactly work here on the Bungie forums, but I'm suggesting something similar: A little drop down box which hides the spoiler (Much like the one that appears when a post has been reported too many times) and can be expanded or collapsed as the user wants.

I'm sure that it wouldn't be too hard to implement. Of course if something like that was to be made, it might be a good to put some information in the Text Formatting Legend so people know how to do it.

The benefits of something like this are kinda obvious so I won't list them.

Thoughts?

Wow, the 343 forums have got quite a good spoilers thing going on there. I guess I would quite like to see something similar/less complicated on here. Maybe it will encourage people to use it more.

There have been some great suggestions in the past.
Such as
text
resulting in:
Before click:
After click:
text.
Or, simply a button (like the 'reply button' saying spoiler that replaces the text.

*reminisces when the Bungie/Halo community wasn't made up of CoD kids*
*sighs*
*activates time-machine and sets the clock back to Nov. 9, 2004*
glory days here I come..
*vanishes*

That's a good idea. It's one of the few good things to ever be on the waypoint forums.

Ugh, why did they make winning so painful?!

Many tried, but just can’t beat me
They all say it’s hard but to me it’s rather easy
To do what I do, better then the rest
It takes four words, I Am THE BEST!

They could just do it like Roosterteeth.

That would be a great idea. At the very least it would be nice to have the spoiler tags put in the Text Formatting Legend so more people would use them.

Hello, I'm Mr AwesomePizza. I like pizza and I'm a man. Reasoning for the name. I like to listen to the classics of music, write poetry, play video games, and much much more. I'm always down for a nice chat, so please hit me up for some conversation.

That's an awesome idea!
Works so much better than the one we have.
