After watching the H4 concept art trailer (especially the glimpse of the enemy at the end), it makes it seem like we won't be fighting organics as much. I've seen games that make humanoid machines (bipedal, arms and a head), and even though it's still fun to fight these, nothing compares to the blood flying from open wounds as you pound lead into the enemy's chest.

Okay, I didn't mean to sound so bloodthirsty, but does anyone agree with me? I mean, every time I kill a robot/cyborg/machine in a game, the satisfaction just isn't the same.

As in the other Halos i believe there will be more than just one kind of enemy the other ones had organic as well as the sentinals. So if what we saw was in fact not an organic enemy i can bet there will be at least one kind of organic enemy.

"I will show you how a true Prussian officer fights!"

"And i will show you where the iron crosses grow..."

- "Cross of Iron"

Im sure there will be some squishy things to shoot. Like forerunner animals or something.

I agree with you. Its a matter of emotional reaction between a robot dying and a living creature. Obviously neither is real within a game world, but we feel the natural sense of death whenever we see an organic die. When an unoccupied car explodes, we feel nothing (except an adreneline "AWESOME" kind of rush).

That said, the Flood will most likely be the main enemy, so we're good.

Mass Effect 1 is mostly Geth, humanoid robots, and I still thought it was really fun.

Remember about Vanquish in 2010? It's the same thing but with an FPS and it's called Halo 4.

I'd be disappointed if we just fought sentinels the whole time. They're just not varied enough as an enemy. I see the same issue with the Flood. It's cool to fight enemies that vary in lethality.

Remember that the Geth bleed. Besides fighting the organics still felt better.

Battlefield 3 MASTER RACE
Mass Effect 3 MASTER RACE
Skyrim MASTER RACE
Coup MASTER RACE
Chrome MASTER RACE
I program games, that's all you need to know.

Most likely Flood and Forerunner will be the enemy and considering Foreruner are organic...

That weird liquid, it feels like blood so it doesn't ruin the "blood" effect.

Think so, I don't. But we'll see.

I think the satisfaction with robots can be even beter than organics. (Kinky) If instead of blood the put Oil and gasoline, and allow Total destruction of robots like blasting off arms, and other exdremities.

I'd say the machine/organic ratio in that game is about 60/40 (for enemies, I mean). As long as it's about even I don't really notice it, but if 90% of the enemies are machines it just won't have the same impact.
