I'm attached to the community. Out of every other internet forum, it's the only one where I actually want to be and can enjoy being a part of.
Just something about the place that makes it feel special.

Inappropriate. Went a little to far with the butt hole tearing.

Helveck - The guy who talks about Irish roots to me. Thats all you are, a potato.

What sort of role has B.net played or the Community as a whole in your life?
It allowed me to meet and learn from some awesome people in the Greasemonkey group like Iggyhopper, robby118, dazarobbo, paulmarv, firebird347 and CAVX. Which without them I would have never got into computers or programming. Also the community gave me a canvas to create -blam!- for.

Have you brought friends here, into your personal life?
Yes.

And do you ever think a point will come when you'll leave the online scene in regards to the Community all together?
Yes. Mainly because I already am too burdened with community projects and all the people I love on the site I am friends with offsite via xbox etc.

And if so, would it be disappointing?
No.

Or are you all together unattached to the positive things that have occurred around here over time?
I think we look at the positives too much, to be honest. The current state of the community is bad. But we can live off nostalgia, I guess...

There are many powers in the world, for good or for evil. Some are greater than I am. Against some I have not yet been measured. But my time is coming.

Thus I refute thee

to the OP, I know exactly how you feel, I'm just a few months away from being on here 6 years and even before that like you I visited the website since Halo first arrived into my hands, these forums are like no other game forum, the community is something exciting and close, you can never feel like a complete geek talking about Bungie or Halo relations, I have seen my fair share of people come and go from this forum and I have have also made friends through here, one of them who has been here longer than me helped me get onto Xbox live back in the days, I also had friends on the Xbox site community there and they used to regulars on here also like me, in a way I really miss those guys because we were some of the people who were recognized for being on here, anyway a long time has passed for me also I too and following my goal in life with my career and I hope in the mean time that I can keep coming back and seeing the regular faces and also some new and exciting ones...:)

Now is the time of our unworlding
One final effort is all that remains
And I am not afraid
We shall fulfill our promise
We fight for the grace of the Mantle
And this time none of you will be left behind

You know, you could've also said "5 years, w00t!!!!" and I'd still congratulate ya.

Do people still "w00t?"

Very touching.

I've been here sense I was about twelve years of age. Made many friends, and learned many new and interesting things about myself and the community around me. Now that I'm on my Senior year of high school, questions flair in my find. Do I want to become a pilot for the Air Force, or a Concept artist for Bungie?

So many things could affect my decision, like this post for example. Realizing that If I become a pilot I would have to mostly leave this part of my life behind in afterburners CO2 emissions. Where as If I become a Concept artist I could stick with the community and live a mellow life, sketching out my pathway into the gaming industries.

You lack a significant title...

  • 09.05.2011 9:36 AM PDT

I know exactly what you mean. I started coming on here when I was around 12 or 13 when I was in eighth grade and I am now a senior in high school almost 18. I never would have thought I would still be going on here by now. Now that you say this, I will most likely still be coming on here in my twenties too.

Unfortunately, I'm not going to be coming on here in the next years due to a busy schedule. I always seem to come back here though. Only because of my friends I have made over the years of coming to this website.

Thanks for posting this Helveck!

You lack a significant title...
Titles have nothing to do with it.

You have to know the person.

It is the soldier, not the reporter, who has given us freedom of the press. It is the soldier, not the poet, who has given us freedom of speech. It is the soldier, not the campus organizer, who has given us the freedom to demonstrate. It is the soldier, not the lawyer, who has given us the right to a fair trial. And it is the soldier who salutes the flag, who serves the flag, whose coffin is draped in the flag that allows the protester to burn the flag.Father Dennis Edward O'Brien, USMC

Heres to you Helvek...* Holds up a beer. Im glad alot of my fellow older members still hang around. This place isnt what it used to be, but i do enjoy knowing sum of the old breed still hangs out.

I still Say a new title for 7 year long members should be implemented.

Same here. Didn't know exactly I would be here joining back in 2005. But here I am. It weird actually seeing the community change over all these years, and as Bungie unveils their new project a whole new community will arise here.

Heres to another 7 more years Helveck!
