I find myself lately trying to keep my fellow Marines and Elites alive when playing lately. The only one I have difficulty on is saving the Elites helping me out on Floodgate. I lose all but the Arbiter before the level ends and feel like doing it over again to keep 'em alive. It's sort of a mini-game in an obsessive compulsive way. LOL

dont worry about tryign to ave them cause most of the time, if u try to save them, u end up dying instead. Altough they are very helpful, dont worry too much about trying to save them. That is why it is called 'solo'.

I always did try to keep them alive out of some misplaced sense of honor, but anymore I don't much care. There are times when it is beneficial to keep them alive and arm them with the power weapons and watch them transform into wrecking crews, like this. Especially the Marine or ODST with the Fuel Rod gun on the mongoose. Those guys do work on Legendary.

But Reach marines are cannon fodder & extra ammo.

I can agree with you on the wrecking crew concept. On the level "The Covenant", arming the Elites that are dropped off to help you out with a fuel rod gun and all the brute shots I could find, nothing stood in their way. In fact, I didn't even have to touch the hunters in the next room as the massive bombardment from the elites was more than enough to kill them. I just had to deal with the buggers, lol. It makes things pretty fun to see when the AI is not as dump as they seem once they have more firepower; not to mention the Sangheili Major 'naming his first child after me' once I gave him a fuel rod gun. Hilarious.
