Subject: A community worth staying in?

I spend too much time here.. too much time indeed.

I tweet?

I like to think that's false and it's due to the difference in traffic between the community forum and the other forums that only makes it seem that way.

The community forum is really the only one that is constantly policed. The others are lost to spam. The flood however is pretty fun and gives b.net some other character.

Everyone says its great and all, but when ever i go on the reach forum, odst forum
There's your problem.

And please don't refer to women in such vulgar terms, even if it is just to make a point. It's ill-becoming of somebody intelligent, and, assuming you are male, it enforces a different stereotype that many men are belligerent toward women and/or incapable of properly expressing themselves. I'd rather you not make a bad name for my gender.

Now that that is out of the way, you are right, there are many trolls and attention-seekers on these forums, but there is also an active team of ninjas that keep them more or less under control. The community is a good way to relax (assuming you avoid certain threads) and kill time. If you don't have a lot of time to waste and you don't find it relaxing, I'd say forget about it. Basically, join this community for you, not for anyone else. It is, after all, just a website.

Whoa there, hold your horses. I wasn't criticizing your gender in any way, shape, or form. I was just using a term that trolls on the forums and at my school use to describe gamers who rage quit/cry about a negative K/D, BR spread or any other weakness in a game. Don't get me wrong, Girls are just as good, if not better sometimes, than guys in a lot of different situations. Hey, in the bible, when men couldn't be real men, God sent a woman.

Idk about the community. Everyone says its great and all, but when ever i go on the reach forum, odst forum, or any other forum, i encounter more trolls than actually positive people. It serves as a further example of the stereotype that gamers are dumb, mean, and b1tchy little girls. Of course, i don't believe that stereotype because i am afterall a gamer, and a big one at that. Just wanted to know your guys' reactions. What makes this community so great??

hidden in the trash are a few gems, dont let the few ruin your experience.

Hello! I'm Bunie.net's resident medical student (hell i'm sure there are more but I'm the only one who openly declares it!) I love my emblem, and I am periodically active.
I have a Twitter

This is a wonderful community, and its the best time right now, everyone is so friendly!

  • 09.07.2011 10:26 AM PDT

I am human, I am good and bad as well. But I try my hardest to stay good. And some of the things I do and say may be bad. Or just not too good, but I do try.

So with that said I don't fault you. I mean your only human, good or bad.

The Brave New World ViDoc ensured that I won't be going anywhere soon.

Bungie needed to break away from Halo, I think all parties benefited.

We get to see Bungie really push themselves now and they were clearly done with Halo, hence, Reach.

In a time long past, the armies of the dark came again to the lands of men. Their leaders became known as the fallen lords, and their terrible sorcery was without equal in the west.
In 30 years they reduced the civilized nations into carrion and ash. Until the free city of Madrigal alone defined them. An army gathered there, and a desperate battle was joined against the fallen
Heros were born in the fire and bloodshed of the wars which followed and their names and deeds will never be forgotten

Our community is bad but sometimes good.

I couldn't kill some people on here to be a little nicer to each other.

Dianna Agron is the epitome of perfection.

Quinntology.

In my eyes, Halo is completely 343's. With the Title Update looming, I can safely say they are doing what Bungie DID NOT with Halo: Reach...listening to the Community.

Therefore, I'm here for the next IP. And it better not suck.

Regardless of how crappy or how great the games that bungie have made are, it's still the best place to come to look at your stats, talk to people, (and even the occational bungie employee) and keep in touch with whats going on in the studio. I can't even remember what COD's gamesite is...

The man's got a point. I pulled off leaving for a good 4 months, but somehow I find myself back again.

In time you'll learn, like what vanert said, "It's the same here with just about any other community". When I was absent, a friend of mine kept bothering me until I joined a community site similar to the one we have going on here. Same problems. If it's simply a community with zero trolls you're looking for, you're in for a LONG search. For the most part, the problems we have here are universal.

What makes this community so great?

On the odd chance you will actually find someone who shares the same amount of passion as you do for Bungie and when you do it's awesome. Bungie is always working with the community to provide us with not just an excellent game, but a game that we actually had a part in. Sure they do all the hard work, but I believe that they rely on us to give them the input necessary to make a great game. To me this is what makes them the best game developer around.

Also you never have to look to far for an event. The Bungie community is always hosting great gaming sessions with all of the titles that Bungie has made, I have even seen people asking to play Myth together even after all this time!

Bungie is an amazing company and I truly can't wait to see what their next endeavour is going to look like.

Private groups keep the mood that you're looking for in times like this.

Once the new IP starts buzzing in our ears, the community will come to life in a whole new light once again.

Dianna Agron is the epitome of perfection.

Quinntology.

The size of the Community is both good and bad. Good in the sense that there is a fan base of this size for any developer, and bad because....well too much of a good thing can be bad. Overall, the interaction (although it has dropped significantly since Halo: Reach launched), is still one of the best in the business.

Ya, as soon as bungie announces their next amazingly epic IP, the community will probably explode.
