Obviously making a thread saying

"YO YO QBIX IS LIKE 12 LOLOLOLOL"

is something that would be encompassed by that rule. Surely this is the kind of thing that caused the rule to be made in the first place?

On the other hand we have a thread like this. First of all I don't care about the actual content as it was merely a joke. Warn me for spam or whatever but to receive a warning for making a thread about individual users that was nothing but positive (because that was a pretty respectable thing to do) is a tad silly.

Obviously I cannot mention the moderator's username as that would be silly and not solve anything.

...

But it rhymes with floozel.

N.B. This isn't about the warning

@Geegs30

I'd take up the issue with the moderator that warned you for it. In this case, it would be Duardo if I got your hint correct.

Sigh, I understand that when someone without a fancy colourful title posts about a ban/warning all people see is:

OMGUDUNBANNED/WARNEDME.

Please have a read of it again to understand that we're actually talking about whether a positive thread should actually be restricted.

“Oh, it’s a little bit of everything, it’s the mountains, it’s the fog, it’s the news at six o’clock, it’s the death of my first dog, it’s the angels up above me, it’s the song that they don’t sing, It’s a little bit of everything.”
- Dawes, A little bit of everything

I thought they abolished that rule, did they reinstate it?

Trying something once will increace your chances of success, because you tried it. Try someting twice, and your chances increase yet again - seeing as you've done it. Try something a few thousand times, and your chances of success is exponentially increased; this increase would likely provide success every time

Sadly, rules are like laws; no matter your best intentions it's still against the rules. I'll use Dexter, from the hit series Dexter on HBO as an example. He kills peope, lots of people - the people he kills are only ever killers themselves.

Is it right? Sure, one's about talking about someone and one's about killing someone, but the over all moral shows.

Bip Bap Bam in the brainpan!

Depends on the content. If its a positive thread, than no it should not be restricted. Looking at the way bungie moderates these things, do some of the moderators actually read these threads?

Silly me, it's been too long.

Personally though, I also see it as "spam or whatever". Mainly because it has little to no discussion vaue.

Hello, I'm Mr AwesomePizza. I like pizza and I'm a man. Reasoning for the name. I like to listen to the classics of music, write poetry, play video games, and much much more. I'm always down for a nice chat, so please hit me up for some conversation.

I thought they took that rule out...
But anyways, I think if it was actually discussing something serious than it wouldn't be locked. To me, that's kinda like Spam so I would understand why it was locked. Also, talking about a unfair warning in the forums is usually not a good move. Try messaging Duardo. (The one who banned you)

I also have the ability to pray to god in my room but for reason we still go to church to do it together

They did abolish that rule. OP, your thread was probably locked because the thread, being about a Community member, may have belonged in this forum.

No it was very specifically locked due to it being about an individual user.

  • 09.06.2011 2:58 PM PDT

...Was it? Was that what the warning said?

Yoozel, I am disappoint. Again.

I don't get it. I know Mods can make up their own rules and do what they want nilly-dilly, but they really shouldn't. Is that really what the warning said? That's probably why you weren't banned; it wasn't actually breaking a rule. I'm curious about this now, I'm gonna PM Yoozel. Just because I'm curious -- I love hearing the Mods' side of the story. Usually they have a legitimate reason.

It's not like a murder mystery you don't need to go behind the scenes.

Just wait for him to reply so we can discuss it.

  • 09.06.2011 3:06 PM PDT

Oh, that'd be great, but they usually won't come back. He might though. I sent a PM anyway, I'll let you know what he says. I need to know these things so I won't do them in the future.
EDIT: If he reads my PM, he'll probably just reply here. :P

This. That rule was abolished when the rules got shortened. So, why are people still being punished for doing that?
