Ever played in so many multiplayer games in regular Halo that you wonder just how good u've gotten? You know, see how many kills you have, your accuracy, your kills per death, your weapon of choice, your first place finishes... All of this and more? I remember in the game (for N64) Perfect Dark, all of this was recorded, and that was one thing that made you want to keep playing... and playing, and playing.

So my question is, does Bungie plan on having Stats in the character Settings? I'm only listing rudementary ideas off the top of my head, but i'm sure if anyone had enough time to think about it, they could include so many way cool features. especially if you could load this character onto a memory card and compare with your friends!

Also, someone should make a search bar for the forum topics, as there are thousands! (as far as i know, somebody has already asked and gotten feedback/ reaction to this idea...)

There once was a Master named Chief
who liked to smash Covenant
teeth,
He filled out a docket,
And picked up a rocket
Which brought all the bad guys to grief.
this writen by THE MAN Frankie. from his OXM days

i think i heard Frankie talk about the stat system in one of the weekly updates.

Yes, Frankie did say something about that and I hate it. One serious problem with that are the Vultures... people who hunt down lesser players exclusively and mow them down ruthlessly for a few points.

Another thing is that I like to fight guys that are better then me. (And there aren't any of those left offline around here. That's one good thing about XB Live)

I'd prefer an invisible statted system whose only purpose is to find you suitable opponents.

That's Xbox Live, yes... but what about in just your console or system link play? Besides, the stats wouldn't be available to everyone, only to yourself... (because it'd be in your player settings...)

This subject has been mentioned about as much as people asked Bungie to put in the Energy Sword. So I think there is a good chance that this will be in Halo 2.

I'm gonna grind their bones.
I'm gonna pile 'em up inna big fire and roast 'em.
I'm gonna bash 'eads, break faces and jump up and down on da bits dat are left.
An' den I'm gonna get really mean." - Grimgor Ironhide, Black Ork Warboss

Dude, keeping track of Live stats would be lame, because that would just make people go kill-crazy just so they can show off and talk down to friends.

There is a stats tracker. see the bungie bar on the bottom of your screen? second box from the right. Msn has recently been integrated into xbox live, and msn has been integrated into bungie.com. I beleive it would be relativily easy to transfer stats via msn, but i really have no idea how networking works. I wonder how detalied the stats are though. i remember perfect dark, where you could see how far you have walked, number of headshots, that kind of thing. And i know what you guys mean about vultures. i hope bungie has the option of choosing rooms based on your skill level. It would be pretty easy to deterime your level if they used a formula for kills to deaths ratio.
