or is it classified?

My guess is it's classified. After all, we're just the end user. They're just warning us that stuff could go wrong.

All combat operations are classified.

I don't think so. The maintenance ended long ago.

Prior experience working on user-facing production servers in a high-availability environment.
Nope.

Solid programming skills in C# and SQL.
None.

Deep understanding of Windows Server, IIS, Active Directory, Performance counters, etc.
Oooh performance counters! I can use task manager.

Understanding of TCP/IP, Windows routing tables, etc.
I know IP stands for internet protocol without googling it. Give me a cookie. Other stuff is gibberish.

Willingness to do occasional late-night software maintenance work
Actually, I wouldn't mind that.

Passion for delivering a great end-user game experience
Eh. If it works, it works. It doesn't need to be great.

Propensity for rattling off arcane Windows knowledge such as the merits of icacls over cacls, or the finer points of netsh.

No, I could very well be your writer though.
But I don't live near Seattle, nor could I deliver the writing style of Urk.
I can teach your staff to swim, sounds like a quality candidate for a AAA Video Game company?

Considering the topic, this seems like a relevant question, especially in relation to job specifics: does Bungie use IOS?

I'm fairly sure it doesn't. I recall reading somewhere in the jobs section that Bungie is a Windows house.

I don't think there are any routers or switches you can load Windows onto.

No that I know what I'm talking about but:
Go to hdubya's link - to the second paragraph - "Bungie is looking for a generalist engineer to keep our server software purring on our datacenter servers (we're a Windows shop)."

^Narrowed it down to odd characters when copying that quote^
What happened here?

Right, but the networking equipment leading to Bungie's datacenter doesn't run Windows (think about your home router- it's probably running Linux, VxWorks, or another operating system, but certainly not Windows). If they're Cisco boxes, they're probably running IOS.

I'm assuming they are refreshing all the API and the server's cache information.

Or is it?

Anyway regardless of being on topic, Apocalypse should be working for Bungie. I'll bug him about this.

Guys you lot are such nerds! The only iOS that matters in the world is apple's operating system. What is a Cisco?
