It would be Original Post, not Original Poster. You can't refer to this first post as an Original Poster, but you can refer to it as an Original Post.
The post (post) itself overrules the user (poster), because the post is all that matters, the member is not important.
"OP left the thread" = "Original Poster left the thread"
"OP left the thread" =/= "Original POST left the thread"
