This game is old. You can't expect them to create a perfect admin system for a game that is years old.

You're right. They have new games to work on. We understand that.

We aren't asking them to write anything. In my very fist posts on the subject I asked for an SDK for the game or info that would help me write the extended admin tools that we need.

I haven't heard from anyone at Bungie with anything helpful to say yet.

I did have a forum ninja ask that I PM him. I have, and am still waiting for a response.

Admins of my clan. And, I am aware of the difference - I was being polite.

politely telling someone to grow some nads???difficult and not achieved in your case.

also, are you concerned with the potential for child abuse or just bad behaviour such as swearing? there is a difference and most children are exposed to fairly crude language and behaviour well before they play halo on-line.

how old are you megan?

do you know of any halo players that have been subject to child abuse on-line?

by the way, I support your cause megan.

wasn't and isn't just the catholic church!

I am more concerned about the potential for child stalkers than about the cussing. In fact, one of our members was being stalked in a game on our servers last night and we were able to ban the stalker. This is not always the case. Because of a lack of serious admin tools, some of them leave before being banned.

Only verbally. I do not personally know any children that have been physically abused by an online stalker/molester.

True. It doesn't really matter what the religious views of a molester are....they should all be removed from society.

We are simply trying to keep them off of the Halo servers.

Still waiting to hear back from the forum ninja that chastised me.

Get Marathon Here
Get Marathon 2 and Infinity Here

I have a simple solution:

Bungie gets the ability to access the database of drivers licences, and in order to log in online you need to put in your drivers licence number.

What parent will let their kid use their drivers licence for that?

Where I live anyway, only 18 year olds can have full licences, so unless the licence number checks out, they can't go online.

For the open public servers anyway, private servers should just be open to anyone.

Not really going to happen, but it's a great idea.

Hmmm, a real idea.....dum dum dum.....I would prefer a skill testing question to ensure only those with reasonable inteligences can play online, but meh...

There isn't really any feasable way to ensure the majority of under-aged persons who currently play would not be able to play, the kind of secure info that can't just be made up is too intrusive on peoples privacy rights.

Anyone below the age of 18 is considered a child to me. You can't vote, can't go into the military, cant rent/buy a house or apartment, can't lease or buy a car, can't apply for credit cards; basically you can't do alot of things that make you an "adult" and are necessary for independence.

In a perfect situation for MS and bungie, no one under the age of 17 would be playing halo. Since this isn't the case, the M rating is kinda just overlooked now. I dont care really, i mean its up to the parents if they want to monitor what their kids are doing.
I disagree, a child is someone under the age of thirteen. People should consider the gap between 13 and 18 as "teen". My parents let me play Halo because it's not as violent as other rated M games.

If you want an SDK, you should talk to Microsoft. Bungie can't give you an SDK without going through MS, so cut out Bungie and go straight to MS.

OMG
Master Chief w/o his Helmet!

Stosh <3's me vicariously... at least someone does...

15. I think the limit for ALL online gaming should be 13 and 6-months, no lower.
