Meh, Halo 2 Vista being out sort of ruined h2 maps for Custom Edition. Well, at least for me it did.

By the way, you ought to contain all of this stuff to one thread from now on. It gets annoying to have multiple threads just for one thing. (No offense)

I vote for No Remorse, Sandtrap, and Heretic. :P

Please stop making so many threads.

I'd really hope to get an actual community get together... Halo PC pubs are just terrible now.... Its rare I ever lose and its so boring... Seriously, I did this with a Logitech Controller. My faith in Halo PC's Public Community has been shattered... (On a side note, I love how the guy cussing me out in Spanish completes the atmosphere of how bad public Halo PC is now...)

well im trying to get some kind of a community together.

It's a nice idea, i'll admit. If you can get enough people together it would be a good couple of hours. Unfortunately i don't think i will be able to take part in this due to my internet acting up (unstable pings at the moment) and well, to be honest, i'd get slaughtered anyway. Hopefully will be able to attend to the next one.

And finally, just add to this thread and edit your first post. Will make life easier if everythings in one place.

The pc community has been practically dead for like 2 years now. Every server either has hardly anyone in it, is full of noobs, or is a rocket server full of noobs. Its been a while since I have tried playing though, so maybe im exaggerating.

halo pc full of noobs and free kills is better than nobody.

You two are missing the point. The point of doing a gathering server is to avoid the normal public crowd. It doesn't matter if 80% of the public crowd are all below the IQ of 40 because we're going to be playing together. Not with them. :P

Something smells fishy...

How about some custom maps that aren't based on Halo 2. I suggest the custom map Seclusion because it's my favorite custom map:)

Seclusion: http://hce.halomaps.org/index.cfm?fid=3969

I hope that we can get this to work but sadly it has been attempted before and nothing came of it.

One example of this being attempted in the past: http://www.bungie.net/Forums/posts.aspx?postID=55645640

Also, if you look you can find good server in Halo PC.

This is incorrect. Also I'm not sure if you are referring to free kills as being vehicular based but, however, free kills are very difficult to acquire if you play on a server with skilled or highly skilled players.

You must like Halo 2 Vista over Halo PC. That's okay everyone is entitled to their own opinion. But your comment, although an opinion, was inflammatory and specifically designed to provoke a negative reaction. So unfortunately you cannot expect one to reply cordially.

So here is your negative reply/reaction: Halo 2 Vista sucks.

I see a load of assumptions in this. I don't see anything saying this guy likes Halo 2 Vista.

By the way, yes, he's right. Halo PC is filled to the brim with noobs. Pretty much every public match you go into you can get an amazing k/d and everyone yelling at you accusing you of hacking. Well, that is if you're decent. Pretty much feels the same as when I load up UT2004 and play against novice bots.

It seemed to me that tanman13 was making a comment meant to invoke a negative reaction. So I gave tanman13 one. As in I fed the troll.

I know, I was indeed assuming that he liked H2V. So sue me.

Maybe in your experience Halo PC is full of noobs/inexperienced players. But in my experience, at least on the servers I play on, there is a greater amount of skilled players than noob/inexperienced players.

I don't play on the servers that contain novice Halo PC players.

I've played on the same servers you've played on. After all, there's not much to really choose from, is there? My Halo PC experience has spanned across the entire 8 years (rounding up) that the game has been out, I've always considered it my most loved game, (Even though I did take breaks every so often) and I think the longest I've gone, since I've gotten it, without playing it is a month. In short, I've been around the block quite a few times. I know what has happened in the Halo PC Community. The people who play now on average are in no way even comparable to the people who used to. I used to feel like I was okay, now I feel as if I were a god when I play. Its pathetic.

Do I still love the game? Its my favorite of all time. Do I still play it? All the time. Do I consider the current public population to be a disease? Yes. The only people left are terrible players who call you out for hacking without ever having any good proof. People who hack themselves that call you a hacker just because you can beat them. People that don't even know that there is massive leading in Halo PC. (Yes, they exist and are in large numbers...) It disgusts me each and every time I play it. If it doesn't you, you're either in denial or are one of the people that has made it into the hell hole it is today. I even know people who are dedicated to the game that don't even want to touch it due to the population. People that still create things for Halo yet don't even bother with playing it because of this. Its a problem that is unfortunately (probably) never going to be fixed.

Just as a reminder to anyone that has steam blowing out their ears right now from all that, I love this game. None of this is meant to be negative towards it in its brilliantly crafted form. I will always remember Halo PC as the greatest experience I've ever had with a game in my life. I've gained so many friends throughout the entirety of my time with it. It pains me a great deal to say the things I've sad as I admit everything I've said. Every so often (About once in ever 3 months) I do have that experience Halo PC used to bring me with its community, but for the most part, its let me down recently. I'm sorry for saying the things I said, but I can not deny it.

TL;DR: I did this with a controller the first match I walked into...

TL;DR: Halo PC is awesome; Halo PC's Public Community makes me want to vomit.

Don't worry I'm not offended:) Trust me I appreciate your posts.

You're probably right that the Halo PC community has "devolved" into a less skilled player base. I'm not denying that. That's what happens to games over time; the good players move on.

Sorry if I sounded a little harsh before. I just believe one can still find a server that has skilled players. I'm not denying that the game currently has many novices who have poor skills.

well if the community being bad upsets you so much then do something about it. when i played a few years ago, i'd pub and wait til i found someone who sucked who actually wanted to get better. i'd get them on xfire, take them to ratrace for half an hour and teach them stuff. afterward they'd be better than 80% of pubbers. just a thought.

Actually I've done that many times. I had an entire server stopping their game so I could teach them about lead and how you judge how far you lead by. xD

Also, the skill of the players isn't the only problem. My main problem is how everyone immediately accusing everyone of hacks. I just miss the friendly environment.
