For the record, playing Halo 2 Vista with a controller is fun as hell. I simply laid down and played H2V for an hour. Great fun.
And Syx is right about the people being much friendlier, I found that hosts were much more open to suggestions and that the players tended to do mean things less often.
On the subject of the limited H2EK, I got to talk to Kills Alone a little. Actually, we ended up talking and playing his maps for about four hours. It was pretty awesome.
Apparently custom weapons, vehicles, sounds, ui's, and scenery are currently possible, and they're constantly moving forward. H2MT is a really bright group of people from what I've seen. They've reverse-engineered H2V's d3d9.dll in order to unlock ui's, in addition to the Main Menu Mod (h2.5) and countless BSP conversions (along with original ones and remakes of maps from other halo games).
In short, I'm really excited about Halo 2 Vista modding, and can't wait to see what else comes along.
The moment Halo 2 Vista catches up to the Xbox version in terms of modability, im not going to bother. Last time i tried, the game crashed with remotely advanced stuff (that worked fine on the xbox) and the tags for MP maps were still locked out which kinda ruled out the possibilty of adding campaign vehicles and models etc.
