Your probably wandering whether or not you will be able to play as the Arbiter in the upcomeing PC version of Halo 2.... Well so am I. Personally it doesn't matter to me, I mean the Arbiter is cool to be and all I just rather play as the Master Chief. But if you have any coments on this subject please do reply and also check out my poll on this subject.

Thanks, White_Wolf

Nope, I think he means Avatar... y'know, the dude in the cool silver armor with the ASOABS? (I think we gots a noob >.>)Yeah, and his name is Aubs_117.

It's called the ARBITER. When I read this I was like what? Avatar? Then Fatso asked if he meant Arbiter, and it's kinda obvious now.

And besides, of course they're going to allow people to play as the elite in multiplayer, duh. Why would they take out that option in Halo 2 PC? I hope they do put in elites, but I don't need to say that because they probably will do it.

I think he's asking if the Arbiter player model will be available to use in MP.

It's probably not going to happen. How will the skin work in team games where you need the team color to be represented somewhere on the armor?

H2Xbx has all these features, H2PC will have these features and more.

Oh, and it is the Arbiter, not the Avatar. As for the sniper headshot thing, it really doesn't make too much of a difference. The Elite's skulls are somewhat thinnner than the Chief's skull, so it really doesn't make too much a difference what character model you use.

As for teams, in H2XbL, they're denoted by two things: the color of their armor and the small Clan Avatar pasted on the shoulder of their armor.

I thought in Halo 2 teams were distinguished my the marker over there head, what happened the that? In such a case armor color or whether you're mc or aribiter doesn't matter. Maybe I just don't understand what the point of this thread is.

Anyway, I just created this user account so I can't make any new threads. So, I'll just post my questions here about Halo 2 and maybe someone can give me some answers.

Halo 2 is being released with (or for idk) Vista because of DX10. Many people don't want to get Vista because of that Digital Rights managment poppycock which makes it harder to bootleg stuff. As far as I know, it'll be a while before gpu's are made that support DX10, and obviously you won't go out to buy a new video card to play this game.

Questions
a.)So, will DX10 be available for XP and other previous versions of windows?

b.)Will users be able to force Halo 2 to use DX9 or lower

c.)Since Halo 2 supports DX10, how does that affect beta testing?

d.)If Halo 2 isn't released to the public for beta testing, can we still expect a quality product since it uses new features.

e.)Many people complain about Halo PC's netcode issues. Generally these are people who come from playing a game that can be won by pointing the crosshair at their oppenent and firing. As many of you are probably aware in Halo you must lead your shots depending on your ping; which is relatively easy by following the basic rule: [33 small lead, 66/67-100 medium and 133-167 big lead] This lead is what makes Halo mulitplayer what it is and seperates it from all other games. Can we expect this 'issue' to be addressed in Halo 2?

1. No

2. Most likely

3. I have no idea

4. Of course

5. Since it's not Gearbox but Bungie itself that does the conversion, I can only hope so.

No

Probably

Won't be using DX 10 if there aren't any compatable cards now will they?

Why would it be released to the public for testing?

If they don't, they will be attacked by angry mobs and have thier building burned to the ground.

You think the wank netcode and massive lag issues in HPC make the game good?!. Really, dude, play some games without lag, then come back and play HPC, then say that again.

I do play other games like CS:S and Cod2 and in both there is like no lead. Thats alright for a while, but what it equates to is everyone is good at the game which is just boring. In Halo you have to be able to find a lead and place the shot at the right hieght which takes a better player. It really seperates the noobs from everyone else. My friend Bamboo here makes a nice display of how having a lead makes the game much more interesting and takes a smarter player.

Hah.

Go and play with the clans at the top of the premier ladders (enemy down for example), then say that again. no games are just a matter of being able to aim; it helps, but that's only a tiny bit of it.

I'm obviously out of the loop but when is h2pc due for release (approx)?

is vista a new os? id so has it been released and if not when?

I always thought the lead was to compensate for the distance betwen the gun and the target and the movement of the target in the time the bullet took to travel to the target. I had no idea it was related to ping. thanks for clearing that up.

Depends if they allow this game to be played on anything other than Vista. Although I can't be sure, I think we will end up waiting until Vista comes out to get Halo 2.

Are you implying that Halo 2 PC is DX10 only?!?!??!!? It's cheaper to just buy an xbox with the game then to get vista, a DX10 card and a new computer that can run it all! stuff like Half-life 2 runs on DX7 cards, and still looks comepletely awsome, a feat not even close to acomplished for Halo PC. I'm not rich, I can't just spend all that money. All I want is the single player anyways.

I second that. I honestly don't believe that "Oh elites' heads stick out more so they must be crap" stuff, even though I'm always a Spartan. I see no point in not having the elite as a player model for multiplayer, and if there isn't one, the Halo PC community will make an elite model anyways. H2PC is going to be superior to the Xbox.

Given that the name of the game is "Halo 2 Vista" and not "Halo 2 PC" I know where my money is at :)

And especially don't think you don't need to lead with rockets if there is no ping, you still have to do that.

Forget it. Most of it is -blam!- netcode.
