"But I do not think we're invincible"

I feel the use of this word should be, when aimed at another user or groups of users, automatically treated as flaming or at least incitation. It has no place in civil conversation and obviously seeks to demean and belittle the object thereof, as well as elicit an emotional response.

Discuss.

I concur.

No. There's too many butthurt kids on BNet to consider that flaming. What will I say now? "Hiney-Injurred?" "Bottom-Bruise?" No. Butthurt.

In a time long past, the armies of the dark came again to the lands of men. Their leaders became known as the fallen lords, and their terrible sorcery was without equal in the west.
In 30 years they reduced the civilized nations into carrion and ash. Until the free city of Madrigal alone defined them. An army gathered there, and a desperate battle was joined against the fallen
Heros were born in the fire and bloodshed of the wars which followed and their names and deeds will never be forgotten

It all depends on the context and if it is only butt-hurt by itself.

I'm a college dropout.

If it's considered flaming they'll get banned anyways. Who says it's not already considered flaming? It's easy for moderators to take care of rule-breaking threads since those usually get more attention and are in plain sight, but individual posts are harder to notice. That's why the community really needs to start using the report button. If it's more of an issue, just PM a moderator.

Maybe "mad" or "upset" or "enraged"? I think we can all agree those have very different, less personal connotations.

*sighs*
The OP is just saying that it's not civil nor intelligent to call others 'butt-hurt.' It's crude and stupid.

This thread isn't just necessarily aimed at the mods; it's for the whole community to consider. But I'd at least like some discussion on the topic before I go reporting people every time I see the phrase.

But... there's some people who are upset about something for an invalid reason or, rather, a reason based on misinformation. These people are butthurt and need to know before they spread their butthurted-ness to other threads and get banned for being excessively and inexcusably butthurt. I'm helping make bnet a better place.

Yes, because their inability to comprehend something definitely results in physical pain in their ass. Of course, why didn't I see the logic before?

Do you honestly think that's the way most people use the word? Most people use the phrase just to enrage or mock the "butthurt" person in lieu of a valid argument on why they shouldn't be so mad.

I always use butthurt amidst other valid arguments and reasons as to why someone is wrong.

"I HAET BUNGEE BCUZ HALO RECH IS BAD. WTF IS BLOOM?! IT SOUNDS -blam!-!!!"

Response:

"Wow, kid. First, you need to calm down. Reach wasn't that bad of a game and being all butthurt about it isn't going to solve anything. If you'd like to register your complaint COHERENTLY and without all the caps, please do so. Otherwise, get out."

OP is butthurt over being called butthurt.

Quit being butthurt then.

This way is much better.

I use butthurt.

I use it when the op is obviously missing the point EVERYONE is making, and use it in hope the crude response may shock a little sense into them.

I never though just post "op is butthurt" or anything like that....

Lets hope I don't have to prove my point in this here thread...

Is that word annoying? Yes.

Does it make everyone instantly read everything you type in the voice of a pissed off 12 year old? Yes.

Should it be bannable? I don't think so.

My point was is it already is considered flaming by most people I'm sure, but that's not going to stop them until they start getting banned more often.
