How much damage could spartan survive when in armorlock... well ofcurse he would get instantly killed by mac raund, but i think 10plasma granades wouldnt hurt him.

:)

I'm pretty sure AL isn't canon...

I mean, sure MC locked up his armour when he fell from the Forerunner ship [Forgot name] but that's nothing like what we see in the games..

Enough to withstand a orbital drop with only a forerunner ship's "door" as a heat shield.

relevant

Well, just look at the impact and make a guess from there.

Fun fact of the day: Armorlock in Halo:Reach is canon!

I have no idea how to calculate that, sorry...

it's not canon. The canon version is just locking up your armor to absorb more impact. it is not a ridiculous over shield

Armor lock in the books doesn't boost shields, it just locks the suit in place and overpressurizes the hydrostatic gel...

The two are different versions last I checked.

Armor lock that we see in Reach simply super-charges the shields, then dislodging any plasma grenades/providing great protection.

The other armor lock is what you said.

^^^^^ This, this, this, this, just this. Ugh, I cannot even express the amount of times people have gotten the two armor locks confused. The two are completely different as DaeFaron said. The Armor Ability supercharges the shields, producing an EMP and increasing the shield's strength, at the expense of power to almost all other functions to the armor, and without power to the joints and such you have no mobility, and thus your armor is "locked".

The other type of armor lock is not an armor ability, not in the sense of what is shown in Reach anyway. It is completely different from the AA Armor Lock. The way this one works is by restricting the movement of the gel layer and locking the joints of the armor and restricting their movement to prevent the user from breaking any limbs.

Both abilities are completely canon and the AA Armor Lock in Reach functions almost exactly in story as it does in gameplay right now.
