I heard that marathon is a very good game and I downloaded and started playing it, but I'm finding some difficult spots, is there an online guide for marathon? If so, please give me the link

Well, you could have a look at the faq at GameFAQs , it's not very detailed but it gives a general idea of what to do. Other than that I don't know as I was too good to get stuck in the game in the first place.... just joking, sorry.

Check out my Marathon Survival Guide for starters. That should get you going in the right direction.

If you really must use a walkthrough, The Marathon Spoiler Guide is the best one out there. I would caution against simply reading the guide all the way through and just blowing past the game, though. You’ll find Marathon much more enjoyable if you take your time and figure stuff out yourself.

*Edit* Nuts, I just realized that all the animated GIFs that my guide relied on are down. I’m at school at the moment, so I cant do anything about it right now… I’ll re-host them first thing I get home.

*Edit 2* Dag-gum it, I can’t find those pics… still looking for them…

Simply trying Marathon does not make you a die-hard fan, and thus respectable, but it is a big step in the right direction. You are now on the path to enlightenment.

"You think you're big-time? You're gonna die big-time!"

All of the veterans beat me to the post. Those damn college physics classes just get in the way sometimes.

All of the die hard Marathon fans are glad to hear that another soul has been enlightened on the topic of Marathon.

Zels, if you can't find what you need in either of the links hangbrain posted (pretty unlikely, but possible) just come back here and ask. As you can see, there is always a group of marathon fans circling The Underground like hawks, waiting for Marathon questions to surface, then pouncing on them, each wanting to be first to help.

Always remember: Dive into the melee, endure, live dangerously, sieze the initiative and never, ever leave a single Bob alive.

Even Spazeroids can have fun.... they just don't have tremendous egos compared to Vidmasters. I will admit that Vidmasters have every reason to be proud, it is not an easy game to Vid, especially with style.

You're damn right there... Even if you think you're an ace at FPS games, try following the Vidmasters Rules and you'll find it to be the most challenging experience ever!

Thank God you stopped before, "... the most secure Security Officer", because I would have had to just shoot you. It would have been self defense, I swear!

I think that I have a theory. Because you used a pair of plasma gernadas they didn't work because they are nothing. (nada=nothing)

On the other hand, that also had "nada" to do with Marathon either. Hmmm, two "nadas" again.... coincendence?

Ummm... where te heck did he come from? I mean spammers tend to be even a bit more sensible than that... even avoiding threads you and I are on Recon... But that made absolutely no sense at all, even for spam....

I'm suprised by the fact that no one in here has passed parallels between Halo and Marathon.
Namely that a starship AI is running the show in both universes (and an evil, bitter AI to fight against in Marathon 2, Tycho)

I wasn't aware this was a Marathon/Halo relations page (which they are, very much so!)
and if you want I'll give a bunch of reasons...

lol I'm suprised this thread is still on the first page. I've almost finished marathon, but I have a question. Some of the counsoles dont really fit in with the story. And some of the letters are missing aswell. They are also somewhat errie lol.

Am I missing something here? cause those counsoles sound like something from a nightmare or something =P

That's the part that hurts your brain ;)

Some consoles seem to be random, but don't be fooled. Read http://marathon.bungie.org/story/ and you might find enlightenment :)

I like to think that the consoles that show strange messages or stories are some sort of insight into what one of the AI, bernard strauss or another entity was reading (or writing...)
