Giggity Giggity Goo - Quagmire

I received a warning one time but still maintained my Noble status.

Also with people discussing the removal of titles, people would just complain that they took them away, and some would probably say that "well I used to be this , so..".

"It's not who I am underneath, but what I do that defines me."

To be honest, I like the title system. It gives incentive to be more active and to not break the rules.

What is needed is to make accounts more valuable. Give it more of a purpose than simply a name. I believe titles were made for this purpose, but they're too easily removed and not enough people care for them.

How would you go about doing that?

Is it really that big of a deal?
To some people, yes.
To most people, no.

Construct elaborate forum title system, then arbitrarily strip people of those titles, wonder why the title threads never end.

Bungie logic!

  • 09.13.2011 12:28 AM PDT

I spend too much time here.. too much time indeed.

I tweet?

You support the title system, but oppose how it's handled. You would then suggest that once you achieve a title it's yours forever and nothing you do will take that away short of a perma-ban?

If I'm correct about how you stand on the issue perhaps you'd like to enlighten me/us on how you would change things to better suit your perception of what a good title system would be.

...

Yeah, I think it might be time to go back to no titles, and there were two bans - 7 day bans and permanent bans.

....Sorta want

Whoo.

I say we turn this whole forum into a IRC!

With a channel for each forum and no nicks, everyone will be anon[insert number], AND the member numbers will be randomly generated each visit, so you can't build up a persona given your numeric persuasion.

Only Super users will have a static number after anon which will be their member number.

Actually I'm beginning to like that idea ... none of this "Title" and "NEED MOAR FORUM NINJAS" BS, it'll just be open discussions, with a rather few users because most of the internet is too stupid to figure out how to use a IRC, a nice tight knit community, oh god it would be so wonderful.

Tru7h. C4RN4GE. Bungie.

Warnings seem to have very little and temporary effect. The forum is so inactive these days, I wouldn't worry about it.

-blam!- Was that actually blammed out? Or did I just type it? You'll never know.

You have sinned against the Lawgivers, there will be repercussions. Basically it's them saying, this.

I agree. I'm going to be honest, I do care for them. Of course it's not the end of the world when my title gets removed, but it is pretty frustrating since they are removed too easily. Just one warning and that Heroic Member that you've been waiting months to get is gone.

If it isn't that big of a deal then why not let them keep their title?

Agreed. If it isn't such a big deal then it wouldn't be such a big deal if we got to keep our titles if we recieved a warning.

I wasn't here for that, but I've read up and learned my Bnet history and it doesn't sound fun.

How does not have a title sound "not fun"? It's a color on a website. The only thing I could think of that wouldn't be fun is the 7 day/permaban issue. If that's the "not fun" part of his suggestion then I would say that people need to follow the rules more and not take for granted the leniency we have now.

Guys, I think we're forgetting the real problem. Duardo's having his way with our mothers, and something needs to be done.

Does it hell, it gives the standard members incentive to be active. They give up after being banned for ridiculous reasons (after all they are members and nobody cares about them) and end up getting titles when they don't give a damn.

I've been banned for reasons I've felt were ridiculous, I still got my title.

I don't think you understood.

Let me ask, do you care right now about having a blue title bar that says fabled mythic member?

Or do you hope that people read your username rather than title?

I'm still trying to recover from a 14 day that I thought was a ridiculous reason to get banned over.
