Why does everyone hate Halo 2? Maybe its because its the worst game ever next to mario.

Every single one of your posts now mean nothing. You are a little kid that missed out on the true generation of gaming. It is not our fault you never experienced Combat Evolved or Halo 2 in their prime, so don't hate us or the games for that. Everything you now say is irrelevant, but if you wish, troll on.

completely off topic, why do people say the legend of zelda: orcerania of time is the best game ever?

First off, it is ocarina. And people say that because it very well could be.

The important thing that Zelda and Halo 2 had in common was that they both revolutionized different properties of what gaming is today. Zelda revolutionized 3D action-adventure RPG's and Halo 2 revolutionized online console FPS's.

It is hard for the younger generation today to appreciate those games, because they are so wrapped up in the flashy, modern games now that are appealing to the eye...so when they take a trip back in time to "check these older games out" they automatically call them garbage.

People that grew up on the NES and pretty much witnessed the birth of console gaming is a lucky and proud generation. That is why I will always keep my old systems from the Genesis to the N64. Games today are all about visuals and eye candy, as good gameplay that made games good in the first place, is slowly being left in the dust.

Thumbs up if you like! Lol.

1. Exactly, bungies fault for making stupid ai

2. Haven't played ce

3. Normal difficulty

4. Idk

5. Ok
1. So why hate on Halo 2 when most of the newer AI are repulsive?

2. So that's why.

You need to play CE. CE's AI may be mediocre, but they are fun to play with compared to those son of a -blam!- cheap bastard -blam!-es in Halo Reach. In fact, on CE Legendary, everything's fair and nearly all weapons are useful although the only problem with CE's AI is that the Hunters are just too vulnerable.

If you ever play Reach, abandon your mission and kill every -blam!- Jackal you can. They have like 10+ cheap things that are too long to list and they are the #1 cause of my frustration. Or they were. Now every time I suffer from fall damage stun when I'm trying to do fancy assassinations on Ultra Elites from above on Legendary, I curse Reach.

3. So you didn't get a blue banner at the bottom of the screen giving out button tips or something like that?

4. If it was Metropolis, you could just drive past them in the Warthog or use the Scorpion (it works on Legendary with all skulls are on).

Long live Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time and Halo 2. They revolutionized gaming into what it is now, and they were fun as hell to play.

Im not sure i understand you. Are you trying to say that having worse ai is a good thing?

And how are the Reach ai cheap?

Please elaborate
By newer AI, I also included Halo 2. Besides, nearly all Halo AI are terrible. It's the fact that CE AI don't have that many cheap gimmicks and are capable of getting kills without them that makes me say CE AI is excellent.

Alright, but beware, my rants are very long and are based on observation (except H2 AI, I haven't played it enough to comment on them but I've seen them enough to know that they are somewhat smart).

Reach Jackal cons:

-overcharge their plasma pistols way too fast whereas it takes the player too long to overcharge the plasma pistol
-never run out of plasma pistol charge. I actually liked having pet jackals. It added realism
-can shoot immediately after overcharging their plasma pistols whereas, needless to say, the player can't shoot immediately after releasing a overcharged bolt
-have cheap shields with only one firing hole that wasn't present in CE
-shields reappear too fast
-have unnatural resistance to frag grenades
-shield can withstand two melees from the player despite him being a Spartan III
-rarely attempt to dive from grenades

H3 Jackal cons:

-dive from grenades like a boss
-unrealistic dive from grenade animation. They do it too fast

Now onto the Elites.

CE and Reach Elite comparison

Reach Elites:

-noticeably abnormal health even on lower difficulties. A major can take 1-2 melees after his shield is down
-way too fast melee
-the way they fire their plasma rifle is unbelievable. Instead of firing them in straight lines, the projectiles are like a fork
-concussion rifle wielders have horrible tracking on airborne enemies
-when Elites fire the concussion rifle, the projectile is noticeably faster and has force. When I fire it, it's slow, lacks force, and hardly does any damage
-they know where you are
-they're always moving (this is a good thing I guess)
-shield stun is too short so within 5 seconds of taking out their shield, their shield recharges

CE Elites:

-their melee range was quite big (up to H3) so it was difficult to go around and assassinate them
-their berserking didn't last as long as it did in Reach so you couldn't go around and assassinate them like you can do in Reach
-they had believable shield recharge rate, shield stun, health, speed, etc.
-they could actually be surprised
-Zealots could leap and weren't like this Elite. Even H2 Elites could have hit that guy

Finally, general AI comparison.

CE AI: realistic

Reach AI: cheap, ugly, not fun. Sure H3 Brute Chieftains had grenade deflecting power shields and H2 Ultra Elites had op shields, but at least they were fun to fight. Grunts with helmets, Elites with less shield stun, Jackals with cheap shields. It seems Hunters were the only ones that were improved in this game.

Fortunately, I can get past the Concussion Rifle and DMR problems by using a reload glitch that does exist in Reach so it isn't that bad. But I'll never be able to play this game longer than 1-2 hours.

H2 AI: competent

H3 AI: improved H2 AI. They implemented H2's Armory skull in H3 to some extent yet it doesn't return in Reach. It's quite difficult to assassinate all of those Brutes because they actually notice their fallen.

I just typed the following and put it in quotes for reading convenience. I didn't copy and paste in anyway. This is all from memory.

But surely having slightly op ai makes the game more fun and challenging? Not like h2 where i could run into a group of elites and beat them all down one by one and survive. At least in Reach, running into a group of elites and trying to beat them all down will result in them ganging up on you and battering you. Instead, the player must be strategic and use weapon, grenade and melee at the right time and the right situations to eventually prevail
You do make a good point there.

I think the real problem is the fact that the player is so weak. During my skirmishes, I noticed noticeably annoying things revolving around the player that made me think that everything was against me:

-invisible barriers in noticeable locations. On LNoS, at the beginning of the level, there is an area that could have been used to attack the Covies from a higher position. But it was blocked by an invisible barrier.
-kill barriers
-one shot kills from comrade spartans if I kill allies too frequently, even accidentally. It's really pointless because they're invincible
-Covie AI focus on me the moment I stick my head out
-friendly AI take too long to turn when I want to switch weapons with them. They also take too long to get in vehicles with me. I'm pretty sure this was intentional
-enemy AI damage is either way too high or my shields are weak as hell
-Noble Team AI are next to useless. Placing them in higher places would have made them (especially Jorge) more useful

Were it not for these, I think I might have been able to tolerate the AI. I have to admit, some of the bad things that were in Reach are in H3, although they are minor and not very noticeable since I actually felt powerful. I don't want to have to pick up a power weapon to feel powerful. I'm supposed to be a Spartan who can take a hell lot of shots in cutscenes yet can't take that many in gameplay.

The only enjoyable thing about the campaign in my opinion was the fact that the Covies can't shoot at underwater enemies and this glitch still existing. Also, I found a way to stop the fall damage, but it's quite difficult to time. I'm also trying to find a way to deal with fall damage stun, which is another reason for me feeling weak.

If Team Swat became ranked, would there still be no shields?

Amazing!

Sepratist Unggoy never played Halo CE, and dislikes Halo 2?

Holy mind-blam!-.

Clear eyes, full hearts, can't lube.

You can't sell something you've never owned.

In 2004, anyway.

TO DO LIST:
[✓] Hunt Mastergod1 down.
[ - ] Kill the french
[✓] Sue your dad
[✓] Blame you for it. ☺

Halo 2 was a great game which stood out because of its multiplayer, not campaign. Id rather keep it than sell it for 5 pounds. Hell I bet the guy/store who bought it from you thought you were mentally challenged or something.

Also, Legend of Zelda Ocarina of Time > Mario 64

That's why it's best to just report him for trolling, and causing flame wars. The best judgement is to discontinue the fuel rage of his ridiculousness. He doesn't even have any decent (Heroic+) stats in his bungie.net profile /tag which means he is just wasting everyone's time on the forums with his waste of time posts.

Perhaps, but still, its all part of the challenge. If you ask me, your health bar in Halo 3 was completely underpowered. It was like 2 or 3 inches and almost anything could bring down your shields in flash

The health system in Reach is at least powered up a bit. Sure the enemies aren't as easy and the friendly ai are crap, but as i say, part of the challenge
I have to admit. I don't play for challenges. I play for strategies. If they're easy to implement while those challenges exist, that's ok. But if they're freaking hard to execute, I don't think it's worth it.

I've played Halo 2 with all skulls on and I liked being able to find strategies. But in Reach, I can't find any because everything is stacked against me.

Yesterday, I went kamikaze on LNoS on Easy difficulty and what good fun I had with the shotgun and needler. I did, however, play it on Legendary and I got plenty of assassinations, although it was still a pain in the ass.
