Ok, i just played the campaign on Reach and i actually find myself agreeing with you. Even on Heroic, the elite ultras are like juggernauts, and dont get me started on elite generals.
Like I said, it's unfair.
It's as if Reach was built over Halo 2 (that doesn't mean I think Halo 2 is bad). I notice that Elites in H2 and Reach tend to move to a location from which they can shoot you if you move into cover. The Brutes in Reach have the same vulnerability as Halo 2 Brutes and they even have the helmets. Hence, why Reach was compared to Halo 2. It was meant to be like an improvement perhaps even successor.
However, the Reach Elites are even worse than Armory skull enhanced Elites in that they are very, very random and most Covies don't suffer from the timeout that players have (i.e. melee time, reload time, plasma pistol overcharge overheat time).
But the worst part is, they're not that bright. It's not common to find them standing in place and meleeing them in the back only for it not to count as assassination as he turns around and delivers a quick killing blow without showing any signs of surprise. But the even worst part is, their berserking animation. It doesn't always befit them, it doesn't convey surprise, and quite often they do it after killing you. It should be done when they're on the verge of death, not when you go close up to them.

The difference in Easy-Heroic is quite big as you can imagine but there's a big difference in Heroic-Legendary.Damn right. I can complete Cairo Station on Heroic within 15 minutes but Legendary is a whole new level of intensity.

Halo 3's and Reachs campaigns were hella easy, I don't know why you think they were harder. Reach's campaign blew elephant truck too.I disagree. Reach's campaigns were easy if you fought from a long distance. Medium distance, it's a pain in the ass and it's not worth trying to fight Elites from this distance (unless it's just 1 Ultra Elite). And up close is just annoying. I liked being able to do cqc on Legendary. There's hardly any room for it in Reach, which is one of the main reasons why I'm disappointed.

You said glitches don't add to gameplay? Lol wut? Go do some of the glitches in campaign, go explore out of the maps and tell me that it didn't add to your gameplay, to your enjoyment. Glitches do add to gameplay.
A game with no glitches is terrible. Just look at Reach. It's supposed to be 'true vision' but it just shows that Bungie were becoming spoilsports. Invisible barriers keeping us on a path just to make scripting look better. Kill boundaries are pointless because there's still invisible barriers. For example, there's a really tight kill boundary on LNoS at the pier where the Wraith is dropped off. I can't even crouch near the rocks to recharge my shields. Nor can I hide under the dock. I have to go to a small space (from which I can be shot down) or go to the other side (from which I can't do much). And even if I jump slide, I still end up colliding with an invisible barrier.
Reach was on the verge of being like CoD and all those other games that keep us in scripting. That's what makes Halo distinct from other games.
