Not necessarily true. I'm actually at the point now where if I don't recognise somebody's username and their post isn't immediately standing out as one that's well written or reasoned I skip by until I recognise a user or see a decent wall.

Title has no influence on that at all because there are some members with high titles who I hold in low regard.
The fact that you believe titles to be of "high" and implicitly "low" nature show how very much they impact your reasoning.

However, throughout my entire Bungie.net experience, I have observed an tendency that virtually every user follows.

. . .

What I am discussing is a users' habit to respond to a post based solely on title.
Titles haven't been in existence during your "entire Bungie.net experience" so your whole premise is flawed from the start.
They have, and thus it is valid.
wat

You joined about a month after I did, and I am reasonably sure I was here longer than a month before the title system showed up. Either way, it's a minor point though.

And yeah people want to read posts by people who are more likely to know what they're talking about. That has nothing to do with titles and everything to do with discerning good information from bad. Titles open the opportunity for users to assume information rather than reach conclusions from given content, the very same fault that you have just displayed here.
I was going to respond, and then I went back to read more of your OP and realized you're also proposing getting rid of thread titles.

Conclude that you are trolling.

Peace out.

The original post is very clear as to what must be done. Trolling would require a level of dishonesty, to which there is none present. My point sadly stands.

Oh, not literally, of course!

Can we have our titles hidden to signatures only?
When scrolling through posts, you're more likely to stop and read the rarer "Legendary Member" title, rather than the regular.

I spend too much time here.. too much time indeed.

I tweet?

Perhaps that's something that could be looked into in addition to DEATH's proposal. A website free of anything that could create bias. No titles (of either kind), no join date, no avatars. A completely sterile environment to only provoke discussion.

Only problem is that you can't get rid of bias things like that just by removing titles. The next thing that would come into play is popularity, and that would be just as bad.

I was only considering that the user's title be hidden in, as I said, the signature. This way, users won't be encouraged to stop and read a post because of the user's title bar color. It puts more emphasis into the content of the post.

Edit: I guess I wasted my time here. I didn't notice that this was a satire thread. Peace.

Anyone who bases the legitimacy of someone's post based on the poster's title is ignorant unless the poster is a Ninja
WRONG

No... it isn't wrong. There's no reason I should believe you're opinion or post over a member unless it has to do strictly with something that is related to Bungie.net before that member joined.

Even then, some things like 'guy to ban people' that happened before a lot of regular members joined are commonplace at this point so that isn't even applicable in all situations like the one mentioned in the above paragraph.

... and the topic discussed is the rules or if the poster is Urk or Achronos and the discussion is Bungie or the Site (respectively).Someone clearly hasn't seen Bungie employees delete certain threads.
Their opinions is strictly subjective matters are completely irrelevant when it comes to actual information given by them about the site or Bungie as a company. Your statement directed at me to imply that my not having been here as long as you somehow makes my opinion invalid is ridiculous at the very least.

It still stands because, like you said earlier, you are the community.

That and most people saw the sarcasm a long time ago, so they are done with the thread.

Ok, I'm going to be courteous and let everyone know that this is one giant satire/troll thread.

That being said, it's hilarious that absolutely know one has noticed except for maybe five or six members.
