There doesn't need to be another thread about this. We get it, alright?

I don't really understand where this sudden uprising came from.
There are no other threads currently discussing this issue.
I have always thought titles were, more or less, stupid. But I don't see how it actively hurts the Community. Other than these threads popping up 10 times a day. It causes too much clutter and it's more annoying to see these kinds of thread than the HUGE "impact" that these titles seem to have.

Even if it is a joke.
Discussion is discussion, and to simply not like seeing something ten times a day (even though this is the only thread?) does not invalidate its argument. While titles may not have an impact large enough to be more apparent, you cannot deny that they do impact our decisions.

I don't understand why you think titles are jokes, this thread is a legitimate discussion of a present issue that even is seen in this thread.

You're discussing two different topics. Or at least wording it so ambiguously that you can have two interpretations of what you're talking about. One of which has been discussed too many times today, and yesterday for that matter.

Well what did you expect? This forum's community has degraded completely in the last year. It's on a downward spiral that is snowballing at a fast rate. Some people have been crushed and haven't returned; while others have crawled on. The community continues to be divided among those who were here before the big influx of Halo 3, and those who were here after.

Titles have, and always will, divide people's prejudices. There are specific groups of people that will side with you, or go against you. But generally they follow the same guidelines, that those that agree have the same title of equal or greater value, and those who have lost their title, but have come to terms with the facts that it doesn't really matter on one side of the coin. The flip side being that quite a few users view posts based on titles.

It's an inherent fact that the admins fail to recognize as a leech on the quality, content, and overall well-being of the forums. It doesn't take a rocket scientists, let alone a programmer, to discover that titles were a bad idea. Yet they continue to exist?

I personally hate titles. Why? Because back when I first joined they were the sole reason upon which you viewed ones post. It was down right agitating. I was almost completely ignored. If you look at any other forum site, they don't envelope the post in a title. The post stands alone as a single person's views, not a flashy color that is used as a basis of judgement.

I have pushed for these changes time and time again. Yet they end with me standing alone in the rain. There is a secret cult of pseudo intellectuals that exist in this community, that feel they are the elites of the world, and only their opinion matters. After people have tried repeatedly to get recognized by these "elitists", they never are. Such activity takes away from the value of the community. Making some feel lesser than other, eventually driving them away. This cycle repeats again, and again.

I didn't set very high expectations when I first joined this community. But I later learned that it has its highs and lows. Be that as it may, the lows highly outweigh anything of recognizable value in this community. Those "elitists" have a voice in few numbers, while the rest of the community needs numbers to get their point across. I could continue to banter on, but whats the point? I'm a nobody. Most people don't even know who I am. Which makes my post pointless in this community, except for those who agree with me, and want a change in this community.

I am discussing one topic. If you're referring to any posts I have made in a separate thread, please treat them as something else entirely.

I have not seen this topic discussed, and would enjoy a link to touch up on any points I missed. However, it is clearly not being discussed now outside of this, and thus this thread can be considered an appropriate place for discussion. I do not understand why you seek to belittle this discussion, and you should full well know that if something is stated more than once then it is not in any way worthy of being discredited or put down.

Discussion should be encouraged, and discouraging a topic simply because you're tired of seeing it is purely selfish and without foundation.

If I didn't know any better, I'd think you're topic was about member titles, which it is not. Taking you're thread title and first 4 paragraphs into consideration, it seems as though you're talking about member titles. You're last couple paragraphs prove otherwise.

What I'm saying is that there is no point in making an ambiguous thread like this to get people to discuss member titles, when in reality you're doing somewhat of an experiment on thread titles. And because you worded most of your post, and the title as well, people are proving you right. However, all the discussion is about member titles when you're discussing thread titles.

Sorry if I was making my wording a bit confusing as well.

It is an ideal embodiment of the deceptive nature of titles and the assumptions associated with it. War will always have causalities, and ultimately what better method to make a point than by proving it.

In a time long past, the armies of the dark came again to the lands of men. Their leaders became known as the fallen lords, and their terrible sorcery was without equal in the west.
In 30 years they reduced the civilized nations into carrion and ash. Until the free city of Madrigal alone defined them. An army gathered there, and a desperate battle was joined against the fallen
Heros were born in the fire and bloodshed of the wars which followed and their names and deeds will never be forgotten

I think some people take titles WAY too seriously.

I mean, I thought they were supposed to be fun little things you get.

But, I also find it funny that people think just becuase someone is a Mythic or a Legendary or Fabled that you are supposed to be this perfect embodiment of being a member.

I actually read his post, and read once again to make sure (this was before I posted) and while the descriptive language in his OP led me to believe that he was discussing titles and nothing to do with threads, the last few paragraphs contradicted otherwise. This is an interesting topic to discuss and is somewhat unique.

Based on what most topics I see are, you're correct in not using the "Big Money" chant.

Also, spectacular analogy.

The greatest irony is that the thread title is completely accurate and true to what is being discussed.

Are you still confused on what exactly is going on here? If you are I suggest you have a re-read and get a new baring, if not I ask you this: If all titles are removed from threads, then how would I know exactly what I'm walking into until it's too late?

In that regard the odds of "Big Money" would be more akin to the state lottery.
