Alright first of all look at the cover art of halo primordium. You will notice a covenant ship, and some humans around a fire on a nearby cliff.

Now look at 1:10 on the halo 4 concept art of halo f http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vAKmu2yn3FkAs you can see it is the same image but much closer to the humans.

The ships do not look much like fore-runners. Perhaps they are ships of pre-deevolution humans!

Well either way, we now know that there are deffinate links between the greg bear books and the new trilogy.

Ok. First of all, we haven't seen much of any Forerunner ships besides one type of ship- The Dreadnaught. So how would you know what one would look like? Also, it doesn't even look anything like a Covie ship. Also, The Forerunner Saga covers are taken from Halo 4 concept art.

Yea someone brought up this same topic on the 343 forums recently and got the same answer, but since it is on the cover of the Forerunner Saga I think it is safe to say that those are most likely Forerunner ships.

Keep in mind that 343 has screwed around with the design of Forerunner arcitecture for Halo 4. However, the purple shade isn't very Forerunner.

We've only seen the architecture for their buildings. Now, look at a human plane. Then look at the Empire State building. Very different designs, no? Also, it's already widely known that the new game trilogy and the Forerunner saga are tightly tied together.

We should know better, because we are better.

We have only seen two kinds of ships, to say that those are definitely not forerunner would be ignorance. Just because two ships follow the trend does not mean all do. There is also no "-" in forerunner, it is one word.

true, but remember the pre-deevolution humans could have built a very different civilisation from ours.

Look at European Archetexture, and then Japanese. Imagine how each would look today if they never had contact with eachother!

OP makes a good point, they don't match any current Forerunner art style, and a radical change this far along seems unlikely.

Alas it can't be confirmed :(

Well the purple doesn't look very fore-runner. It actually looks very covenant. And remember the pre-devolution humans had formed a sort of covenant with the Prophets.

It doesn't look purple to me.

Also, the dreadnaught and their buildings are all very old. We are apparently going to see the new Forerunners. Do you really think they wouldn't have advanced technology at all in many thousands of years? Their desgins could be very different by now.

True. I'm not saying that you're wrong, I'm just saying I think we will be dealing with a little more than just the fore-runners!

Of course. I would be very disappointed in 343i if we only had to fight and see forerunners.

Even though most of you have probably noticed all of this I am going to quickly analyze the concept art.

First pay attention to the ships. There are two different designs, the two on the left look Forerunner and the two on the right appear to be human; there are also two in the background which also appear to be human. The reason I say that the ones on the right are human is because if you look at the back of them they appear to be using similar engine technology to what the UNSC uses in all of the Halo games. Although the ships on the left are a shade of purple look at the engines on the ships; it looks not only like the planet in the Halo 4 trailer, but also like other Forerunner designs.

So maybe it is depicting the previous Human vs Forerunner war or maybe it is something that will happen in the game (since it is Halo 4 concept art).
