Just the other day, well actualy today I was playing Halo C.E. I took the music from that in comparison to Halo 2 and began to wonder. I miss the covenant dance from Assualt On The Control Room. Yeah, you remember playing Halo C.E. and after all the fighting you finaly reached the end. You open the first of the few last doors that lead to the Control Room. The music was awesome and felt just right for that moment.
I know how good the music is in Halo 2 but I just didn't get that great Halo feel in the music that carried over to the gameplay. The story also felt much different. Remember the begining music in The Maw. Stunning. The remix felt good when it was carried over to Halo 2.
How did you feel with the music difference in Halo and Halo 2.

Halo 2 soundtrack Rocked!. However it can never touch the original! Ah such fond memories.

Seemed that halo's were creepy, quiet and sad, while halo2's were thrilling, loud and revealing(i.e. when flood are behind corners music changes)

I found both the Halo 1 + 2 music suited, yet Halo: CE was slightly better. This is due to the music going with the mood of the mission. For example, on 343 Guilty Spark, its all creepy and sad due to the death of many of you're squadmates and the release of the Flood that has been locked up for an unknown amount of time. Another example is on the mission Halo, the classical part of the music comes through with the main music, showing that the humans are fighting back and starting to get an upper hand.
On Halo 2, the music is okay, but on Metropolis, for example, the new-theme Halo music comes in, when you're driving incredibly slowly over the bridge, when it would be better if it came on when in the proper heat of battle.

Oh there's also a Cutscene Library here where you can even see "...And the horse you rode on" video.

Enjoy! = )

Halo 2's music kicked the original's ass by a mile... Chuck Norris style. Halo 2's music should have won a grammy award. The original was okay but Halo 2 takes the award.

Halo 2 has great music, but I prefer Halo 1's. I like the eerie, mysterious mood of Halo 1's. Halo 1's music also seemed to fit the game better.

I agree. I often find myself replaying parts of campaign just for the music. Here are some of the best parts:
Control Room of Cairo
"A Day at the Beach"
The Scarab Battle
The first banshee battle as the Arbiter
The last great battle in Gravemind
And many others.

Halo had great music too. But Halo 2 was a masterpiece.

Sorry I thought that was stupid. It doesn't sound bad now but I thought the music didn't suit Elites at all.

The music just seemed better because the campaign for Halo 1 was better.

The two stupidest songs on the Soundtrack too... Hmm. I agree, they are both pretty sucky (and sound even worse when without gameplay to distract)

Loving Volume 2,
Tranchera

lol

I dunno, Halo 1 was amazing, subtle, then loud at times were big battles were coming. It made you tence too.

Halo 2 works in the same way, but it seems really.. well more techno-y than #1, I dont know about you. Like where you have to go through all those shafts and press the button to make them open, and fall down the hole they create, before the library, maybe 1/2 levels before. It just didnt suit the Arbiter or that levels surrondings and that.

The music itself is amazing, like in the tralier. I love the old-school piano.. YES! But in-game.. I doubt it. For trailers its amazing.
