Subject: Why do people act like 343 is so different?

A whole bunch of the Bungie people who made Halo joined 343, so why is everyone acting like they're siding with one developer or the other? They're almost the same people.

lol not really. Hardly any people jumped over to 343i. I'd find the Achronos's quote, but it isn't worth my time to prove you wrong.

Yes, I know. It's rather annoying!

Again, while 343i is made up of lots of awesome devs, please stop saying that it is full of prior Bungie employees. It isn't (you can count them on one hand).

Reach (and Halo in general) is in good hands. But it isn't in "formerly of Bungie" hands.

...Because 343 has a good chunk of Bungie folks in it.

Research. It is, contrary to popular belief, good for your soul. And your online dignity.

Thanks! Can you link the thread you found that in so I could save it?

well if bungie says it's in good hands, why are people still taking sides?

  • 09.15.2011 2:37 PM PDT

Clear eyes, full hearts, can't lube.

The amount of Bungie Employees that moved to 343 can be counted with one hand, excluding the thumb.

Now you know why we are, at the least, a little worried for Halo's future.

Only regret is I didn't play more of it.

If you haven't noticed by now, I'm sort of a jerk.

No, only a handful of employees went over (about 3 or 4).

I run Skirmish!!!

aside from the thing achronos said, bungie has a huge resume of making amazing games and becoming top of the developer list for games, 343i has yet to make a game as they just jumped into the halo series.. that's the big difference

δόξει τις ἀμαθεῖ σοφὰ λέγων οὐκ εὖ φρονεῖν.

Euripides, Bacchae. 480.

A small percentage of 343's staff are former Bungie employees. Note "small".

343 has no track record whatsoever. They have made no games and none of the novels they've produced have been done by their writers.

Well every one is different. So wouldn't that make a company filled with different individuals different from every other company?

No... they didn't. And that article you linked says that less than 5 bungie employees made the switch. You obviously didn't read it.

because it is not bungie.some people i think are a little to quick to think "OMG WTF 343 took halo ands going to reck it"
they will make a fine game and hope fully change the haters minds.

P.S there game has not come out yet so for all we know it could be bad.

Hi I'm RT and I like to argue!

Who gives a -blam!- is a better question. They'll make the game they're gonna make and let's judge it then rather than now.

I was, but your mom left early so I had to cut the trip short.

Apparently they did hire a few Bungie employees but those specific employees were not a huge part of Bungie to begin with. They're in the hands of the devil now.

Your very own source says this "still keeping the number of ex-Bungie Employees under five."

343=/= bungie. You know how many people from bungie actually work at 343? 3. 4 at most. You need to get your facts straight.

The Joyeuse IP Formula

It was never that many:
Frankie
Vic
Nate (now at Zeni Max)
Seth (now at Riot Games... I think)
Shishka... am hawt.

There. I could count them on one hand.

They're different because:
-one is a branch of Microsoft and one is independent.
-one was created to work on Halo games forever; the others purpose is to make new universes.
-they are not the same group of people. Different groups with different goals, visions, and business plans.

People don't have to side, but they're certainly allowed a preference.
