What if Bungie could harness its community's creativity even further in its next game.

In Reach the idea behind invasion was cool, but it would be cool to be able to take another step further. What if you could sit down to play a game and write your own campaign or add your own pre-recorded in-game cinematics. Think little big planet creativity meets action game and beautiful graphics.

How much of a step further would an idea like this be from the current map/gametype editor in Reach.

How much would you want to see something like this.

Considering most the community are teenagers who aren't mature enough to know how to properly make a game I say no.

Off the top of my head the most difficult part from a technical standpoint would be flexible ai that can be customizable enough by the player to fall into player made situations.

Another issue would be giving the player a means to communicate story-telling or even just objective information to the player. Right now players can create and edit their worlds. The goal of a feature like this would be giving the player a means to make them come alive.

Players could recreate scenes from books or previous games or expand the universe and create their own stories.

@expunge Wow that post was extremely unimaginative and negative good job. Just because most can't doesn't mean they all can't. Maybe there are some cs grad students or programmers that work in related fields.

OP - You're a dumbass with the reading comprehension skills of a second grader.

Can someone tell me what's wrong with these two, this made me LOL hard.

Seems like a good idea. To be honest, I would've used the campaign to further a story I have been developing for the past year or so. I got the plot down, but when I go to write it, I seem to go a bit too much into detail.

This "Little big planet" type of campaign for action games would help me a lot and I would also like to see some of the players' creativity when it comes to storylines.

The issue would be mechanics however. And what type of setting it would be. To be honest, I want it to be like a fantasy type of setting for Bungie's next game, like a Dragon Age and GTA crossover or something.

I figured I would get a lot of hate for that post.

I used Empire Earth's campaign builder to create campaign missions when I was like 12, and that stuff was actually fairly advanced for an in-game editor, you could even design the cutscenes, time explosions and animations and all sorts.

I'd be interested in seeing it, but I'd be unsure about how these custom campaigns would be distributed around other than a top files system, but we've seen what can get to the top of those...

I don't think the Reach engine is capable of placing bots.

Didact's Reprisal -
Now is the time of our unworlding
One final effort is all that remains
And I am not afraid
We shall fulfill our promise
We fight for the grace of the Mantle
And this time none of you will be left behind

It would be great if Bungie's next game could do everything, but they don't have all the time in the world. If they can fit something like that into their schedule without sacrificing a million other things (I doubt it), go for it.

Using something like an Xbox has far too little controls to create a good campaign or game. Or it would be 10x faster on a computer.

I think they will definitely make a nod to Machinma in their new title. And it's all our hopes that they take Forge mode even further than it's gone before. I think those two things will end up going hand in hand.
