smart, interesting, seems out of place.

Official fan of Assassin's Creed, Call of Duty, (Problem with that?) Halo, and Bungie, also a total gaming junkie.

I think Bungie intentionally made all of the races in Halo invincible to their equivalents in other sci-fi universes. Anybody else come to this conclusion?

Well in my honest opinion, The Empire from SW > UNSC

Evidence: They spanned the ENITRE galaxy, not just a few arms. Sure, it would be a hard fought battle, but I think the superior weaponry and numbers would eventually prevail...

"Find where the liar hides, so that I may place my boot between his gums!" - Rtas 'Vadum

The Emperor upon the Golden Throne called...

...he told me that the UNSC sucked.

Unreal, isn't it?

The Flood would tear up Aliens, but I'm not sure how Elites VS Predator would go. As for comparing to Star Wars, there is no comparison. The Empire would completely destroy both the UNSC and the Covenant. The technology is just far more advanced (i.e. even less realistic).

3/7 CAV - US ARMY
BOSNIA-'01/IRAQ-'03

The Ancients from the Stargate universe. They actually did ascend into god-like beings.

Frodo would dominate the Master Chief...

But on a more serious note I think that the UNSC the Covenant and the Forerunners are all pretty impressive and if it came down to it the Forerunners would wipe the floor with the Star Wars Empire. Plus one can't ignore the fact that the Empire, with all it's technology and superior weaponry could not come up with a solution to the rebels and win. The UNSC on the other hand had enough creativity to form the Spartan II project and make great strides in that direction. Also, it seems that the Halo franchise has the dominant AI, of course I am not that well versed in the Star Wars Universe, but as far as I can tell C3PO was semi-retarded and R2D2 could not even manage to speak, despite his technical proficiency and that seemed to be the closest thing they had to AI...

-blam!- Was that actually blammed out? Or did I just type it? You'll never know.

I don't find that to be true. Also this is going to explode into Halo fanboys trying to establish Halo as the most powerful universe.

All I can say is that you clearly haven't read (or seen) very much Sci-Fi at all.

Halo isn't that 'powerful' as it were.

Unless you are just trying to troll, in which case, meh.

The Empire couldn't defeat some hippies with laser guns. I'd like to see what would happen if a few troops of Stormtroopers ran into 10 Spartans with MA5Bs, Frag Grenades, and Rocket Launchers. If the UNSC had the chance to get just a single SHIVA in the Death Star, the Empire would lose their superweapon. We're talking about the UNSC at full might, their fleets fully armed and operational, every Spartan accounted for, the hundreds of S-IIIs, Super MACs, and so much else. The Empire would be slowly destroyed.

And the UNSC is the rebel equivalent, while the Covenant is the Empire's. One Corvette could destroy the Death Star by opening a slip-space portal to oblivion. As I love both the SW series and the Halo series, this is moderately un-biased. Halo would win.

Am I supposed to write something funny here?

People have to remember that the rebels and empire had pretty much the same tech...

Yes they most definitely did, a MC-80 was only slightly inferior to a Star Destroyer, the Independance-class cruisers like Ackbar's flagship were comparible to the larger Imperial warships (the Rebels did not have a ship of equal tonnage to the Executor though).

Either way, the Rebels won because Darth Vader returned to the light side, and killed the Emperor, not through millitary might.

Generalizations.
Helping idiots hate other idiots since people have existed.

The Flood would consume everything in their path.

And in all honesty, what exactly did the Emperor do? Darth Vader was out there killing jedis and all, but did Darth Sidious even really make any contributions? All he really did was sit on the Death Star and preach the dark side to Luke.

I'm not sure if he would really be much of a contribution in a fight, given that he just sits on the sidelines. Although, if he got involved, he could probably kill a Spartan easily.

what exactly did the Emperor do?

Administered the Empire.
Kept the beaurocrats doing what he told them.
Basically ran the show, he was Emperor, after all.

did Darth Sidious even really make any contributions?
He;
Created the Empire.
Ran it efficiently (if evilly) for twenty years.
Made massive territory gains compared to the Republic's holdings.
Unified much of the galaxy under one banner (his own).
Militarised much of the galaxy to further his conquering of the galaxy, and to defend it from threats he percieved. (arguably he forsaw the Vong invasion)
Mocked Mark Hamil. *important*
Spent incredible amounts of money and resources buying things that made bigger and bigger booms...
And threw it all away by getting a bit zap-happy at the end.

I'm not sure if he would really be much of a contribution in a fight, given that he just sits on the sidelines.

Who do you think owns all the Star Destroyers?
And pays the wages of their crews?
Or grants their officers commission?
The Emperor very much *IS* the Empire.

Although, if he got involved, he could probably kill a Spartan easily.

Eh well, yeah, probably, he does have a massive supernatural advantage. :/
