Today at school, I got to class, and the fire alarms started blaring.

We went outside and mulled around, and then they herded the entire school (2000+ students) to a park a few blocks down from the school. Yeah- it was great, we stood around for 2 hours waiting and chilling.

But the reason was- it was a bomb threat. The majority of the police force was called to the school, fire trucks, ambulances, and the bomb squad all raced down to our school.

At first I suspected it was some sort of fire, but they then told us it was a bomb threat. I then thought it was a joke, but some connections I made were too eery to ignore.

Not only have terrible things happened in schools in Russia, but tomorrow is September 11th.

Any thoughts or comments?

Well, the bomb squad found no bombs (although their search seemed to me to not be thorough enough) and school was started back up, with shortened periods.

The funny part, was over the announcement, while the principal was giving the debriefing, she told us to talk about our feelings in our classes. In that context, it was funny, although it shouldnt have been.

There was a bomb threat at my old elementary school. It was in 1998 so terrorism wasn't the big thing it is today. We didn't evac. and i didn't find out till the next day.

They don't know who it is, although the police are on the job of tracing the call and lining up suspects. But in the debriefing they said that they had deemed the threat "credible".

lol, ya i think the reason was even though it was abomb threat it was seen more as a gag or prank. there was a phone call and it was writen on lipstick in the bathroom "I am going to blow up this school." or something similar. Now in my highschool i bet we would be out of there right away and the bomb squad would be sent.

The part I found funny was that the security guards rounded up the teachers and told them to go into the school (this is while we're all still outside) and look for anything suspicious or anything that could be a bomb.

Would you go if you were a teacher? My guess is you'd have to love your job.

Man, when I was a freshman, we had like three bomb threats per week (that was actually a record for our school, but we usually got a t least one per week for like a month). It was sad, and got annoying. A bunch of priviledges got taken away. Ask HellJumper76 or CabooseMoose7103, they are in my class.

I think that you are simply looking for attention. Judging by your threads and words nowadays...

My old school had a bomb threat just about once every 2 months, the guys never did it though, they kicked him out after about the fifth one. The crazy part was about the third one, he called the school claiming there was a bomb in the school so they moved the student body into the feild just outside of the school, once we got out there, another call was made claiming there was a sniper so I guess they ran out of places to put us and kept us outside.

4 years ago, when I was in the 6th grade, the middle school I went to apparently got a bomb threat...except it was posted on the internet or something. Well, at least half of the students didn't show up that day, but I did. Good thing it was a hoax, eh? Heh.

Okay... for starters don't mention the stuff in Russia because I will go off...

But the reason was- it was a bomb threat. The majority of the police force was called to the school, fire trucks, ambulances, and the bomb squad all raced down to our school.

That seems like alot... we just have the teachers go through the school with a couple of police guys and snifferdogs. We always laugh cos it seems to be the teachers that people like the least.

But on the topic of bomb threats, my school has to be the most stupid in the entire world. Upon the alarm sounding (for fire or bomb threat) we march down to the oval. Now to get to the oval you must walk through most of the school, and teh last building you go past before hitting the oval is the Industrial Tech building.
Picture this "Quick it's a fire/bomb everybody go to the oval" we all walk past the Tech Building and it explodes due to a well-thought out bomb placign or fire... the 20+ gas canisters in the building explode, showering the entire area with flammable paints and oils as well as shrapnel made of power tools, nails, screws, and any other building material you can think of. Now in a highly safety concious school (they make us wear hats for sun protection ffs) they make us walk past the most potentially dangerous area in the school...

What's with that?
Tristan ;-)
