Subject: Bungie.net friendlist?

As if I don't get enough random friend requests on Xbox Live from people who have seen me post on Bnet... now I'm going to have to clear out friend requests on Bnet too?

We could have a system where the "friends list" functions like jmh's ustalk. It shows the time and place of your last post and if your online or not.

The fires are burning, I'm fire, never tire

Bungie.net needs to get rid of Private messaging because I can just send a member a message via xbox live.

There is a specific purpose to Private Messages. There is no other way to privately contact a person specifically via Bungie.net. There is no other way to do that.

What is the specific purpose of a friends list?

Sarcasm.

I was suggesting a feature that is like the ustalk. It shows if your online or not and where your last post was.

I know... but his satirical sarcasm's overall point was wrong and his logic was flawed.

Join a group with your friends or get them to create one with you. You'd be able to keep up with all of them and see the list of your friends on the members section of the group.

In a time long past, the armies of the dark came again to the lands of men. Their leaders became known as the fallen lords, and their terrible sorcery was without equal in the west.
In 30 years they reduced the civilized nations into carrion and ash. Until the free city of Madrigal alone defined them. An army gathered there, and a desperate battle was joined against the fallen
Heros were born in the fire and bloodshed of the wars which followed and their names and deeds will never be forgotten

Give me a reason that it's necessary.

Give me a reason why Titles, Groups, and forums are Necessary.

Case and point: don't worry about it. Girls start getting boobies pretty soon, and then you'll have plenty of other things to think about. Being an Inheritor is not a life goal.

Titles show status and age, Groups let you form your own community and forum, and forums let you keep in touch and discuss the games and website.

With that Logic wouldn't a Bungie.net friends list make it easier to get in touch, discuss with others, and form a stronger community?

Or you could just use groups and the search feature to look up friends.

Or you could have an organized friends list and an indicator to know when a certain member is online.

How exactly will knowing when a user is online make us a stronger community? "Oh hey! So and so is online." Who cares?

Getting in touch? Just send them a message, they'll get to it when they can.

Discuss with others? That's what the forums already do, and very well if I do say so.

Why do people in ship mutinies always ask for "better treatment"? I'd ask for a pinball machine, because with all that rocking back and forth, you'd get a lot of free games.

Maybe in order to understand mankind, we have to look at the word itself: "Mankind". Basically, it's made up of two separate words - "mank" and "ind". What do these words mean? It's a mystery, and that's why so is mankind.

Euripides, Bacchae. 480.

This community's intransigence towards change is breathtaking.

Am I not allowed to not like something that I perceive as a stupid idea? I welcome change, as long as it's necessary and useful. I see no use in a friend's list.

I wouldn't go as far as a friends list, but I support the idea of online tracking with the agreement of the person you're tracking.

Example; Lets say you had a list of people you are currently tracking, and you see a '"friend" you want to start tracking that's not on your list, a message would have to be sent to that person to either accept decline the tracking offer.

I can see something like this really helping with private group management. I haven't worked out the details, but some sort of tracking spam filter would have to be in place.
