Subject: Halo Armor Customization

You guys have all played Reach, so, when you enter your greeted by armor customization. Now, here is what I'm thinking: When you enter the game for the first time you'll have to pick from four soldier types; Spartans, ODSTS, Elites, and Brutes. Once you'v picked one you will be issued with a choice to be in a specific squad type depending the soldier type you pick. For example: If you chose to be an ODST you would either be part of "Delta Squad" or "Smoke 0." Each on these soldier types would have different squads you could choose from. But, these would only be default squads, once you reached a high enough rank you could create you own squad. You would be able to customize your name, default classes of weaponry for squad members, camo, and emblem. This goes for all soldier types, the Brutes, Spartans, Elites, and ODSTS.

Your own soldier customization would involve shoulder, helmet, leg, torso, feet, utility, wrist, arms, back, and hands. And that's just the gear, depending on what gear you had on. It would actually interact and help you in combat situations. For instance, say you have a back pack and you would usually only have 200 rounds on you, but since you had the back pack (storage unit) you would have 600 rounds of ammunition and 4 grenades instead of just 2.

Secondly, body armor should help you in battle, so if you had a lot of protection and some mobility you would take less damage, but if you had little protection and a lot of mobility, you could run, sprint, evade, and jump faster, but you'd take more damage.

Lastly, you should be able to have classes like in Black Ops. This customization type would leave players comfortable and safe knowing that they have the class they designed. Facial structure, body mass, height, eye color, hair color, voice, and gender should also be incorporated into Halo, making your character look like you a bit. Camo patterns should also be a possibility as well such as, desert, woodland, alps, ops, aqua, night, and sky.

Well where to begin.

1. No, just Spartans and minor changing elites is fine.
Brutes and ODST's have no shields, they would die in an instant.

2.No that would leave glitchers and modders who can bypass halos system to be even more uber powerful.

Plus the no-lifers would always have the upper hand.

3. No armor should be appearance and that's all, Spartans are Spartans they should be.

and finally no.4. No, say somebody instantly started owning because there class was a rocket launcher.

The best should get the good weapons.

I agree with the previous post.
One exception: Armor customization would be unique. Perhaps a more in depth color editor for more detailed areas of the armor. If you have played Forza 2 and you know how the paint and car design works, then that's what I'm getting at. Rather than sticking with simple red vs blue, allow online matches to include complete customization like this.

Renegade Knights RK01

I like your Idea Tangoandhash, it kind of reminds me of a halo mmorpg in some ways. but it kind of takes the halo feeling away from the game well I mean It could be a seperate game type like invasion but I still dont think it should be the big thing in a new halo though.

Hey, now!

This is officially either the greatest or worst thing to ever happen to Star Wars. I'm going with the former.

The only thing I think that could ever be feasible would be small enhancements from armor for a separate playlist different than the normal hoppers.

Even then, there's too much stuff to exploit.

I think that the best part of Halo is the level playing field for all players, it bases play of skill and not the one killer armor or class selection.

nice and sharp

I get what your saying, but like alot of people said, The hackers and No-life's would have the upper hand to the people with lives who love to play halo in free time. But I'm sure if Bungie saw your idea, started using their bright minds, had a talk with 343, then modified it, everybody would love it.I've honestly had the exact same thoughts about the Brutes and ODST's.
Great idea. Just needs some tweaks.

*edit* PM me if you want to brainstorm ideas, I have nothing better to do

I like what your thinking, going more in depth than the Reach custom options with a COD feel to it, who knows, if you talk to some of the right people they may put a virsion of your idia in one of the new halos
