Why must the background image be so... ugly?

I honestly think it looks like mould or something. The random white[ish] image is spread randomly across the screen and makes little sense (and yes I realise it's a map or something).

Sure, you can just replace it with using a stylish theme or a script perhaps, but still. The whole website looks clunky and out of date. Forums don't suit the new theme of Bungie.net either.

Am I the only one who feels this way?

What are we supposed to be discussing here?

"Nothing in the 'Verse can stop me."

I wish BNet would go for a lighter tone but oh well.

What's up, bro-fist!

Wanted to be master of DO NOT WANT, but in latin to show he's clever.

The background used to be some sort of Forerunner wall right? That was cool.

If you are watching this you have clicked on my profile or stolen this. I dont know why you would do that...

About me? I love Astronomy, I like to play guitar and watch anime. My future lies in Astronomy and so does the future of all of humanity. You should join my Astronomy group Space Explorers.

So should it be something similiar to this? It is a script I am using and I love it.

I wish I didn't need a script to have it like that though.

What a hipster.

Meh, I guess the whitish blots are annoying, but I never really noticed them until you pointed them out. The only other time I've payed attention to them is when I'm scrolling through the avatars and that one blot seems to creep in.

I like the darkish tone of the background. I couldn't look at something brighter with those white spots there while scrolling up and down the forums for a long period of time. (The star map blot things in the background's gotta go).

Edit:

this?
Okay, I will admit, that looks really cool =).

Goodbye...

Well, the Glass Galaxies script works rather well.
I don't really see what the difference between using a script and Bungie making it the default appearance.

Because as slow as bungie.net is, scripts are even slower.

Maybe it's your computer or something, then. Glass Galaxies loads instantly for me.

Are you sure you have enough tabs open...?

OT: I don't mind the current look of Bungie.net. I prefer the dark theme, and in a way it relates to Bungie's current state: Dark.
Although the Glass Galaxies stylish thing does look awesome (Zoidberg did a really good job) and when compared with the default Bungie.net is beats it in many ways, I wouldn't go as far as to call the standard Bnet ugly.

I spend too much time here.. too much time indeed.

I tweet?

Why must I feel the need to still dust my monitor when I'm here!?

I think the background could just use a little more color... or animated gifs. Twinkling stars are some such.

I like it.

That's not a very nice thing to say, the background can't help how it looks.

That'd be nice if there were different backgrounds to choose from.

In this day and age with the latest cutting edge technology in image manipulation certainly something could be done to pretty up the old gal. Just need to find the right photoshop specialist for the job.

I like the background, and I like the site being pretty dark.

Me also. But OP, just change the Bnet theme with Stylish. Download the Stylish script if you use FF, but you don't need Stylish if you use Chrome; you can just download the theme and it'll work.

I agree. There was a theme I really liked, hold on, let me find it.

Sounds like a bunch of Justin Bieber wannabes in here. I bet you all wear skinny jeans too.

Dark themes are the best

I'll be on my own side.

B.net used to be much lighter. Refer to the Navbar thread.
