I think there should be two movies, one for the Master Chiefs childhood and for Combat Evolved. The childhood part would be with some flashbacks. Also the second movie would be for halo 2.

I said other... the reasons being;
1) You have to take into account the popularity of the game. You can't just make a movie trilogy like LotR, it's not that popular.
2) Money. They won't even make one movie if it's not financially beneficial for them.
3) I don't think a movie is Bungie's thing. They make good games, and I mean GOOD games. But they know when somethings had enough, they don't work it to death *cough star wars cough* Personally I think a movie would destroy it as there are too many fans out there with conflicting ideas about how everything should be done, of course that could be fixed with a budget like LotR but see above statement... it's not gonna happen.

However... It is good to see people leaving the madness and "Gaara fuks his mom"ness of teh Halo Movie Thread... Nice Work

I guess that could work... but it would have to be fairly indepth and go through alot of stuff that you guys already know for those of the general public who don't know who or what he is... I for one haven't read teh books, I don't really plan to any time soon either, so alot of stuff would have to be filled in for me or I would just hate it.

I type my name wrong so many times it isn't funny...

i voted for the single movie but then i thought about it and so much could go wrong with a movie, i think it would be cool if they went the way of squaresoft and the PSP with them releasing final fantasy VII: advent children. it would be pretty cool to pop in an xbox disc and the watch the fall of reach (first book) all with the game cinematics engine, even though it probably wouldnt be cost effective for bungie

I would have to agree with Spartaon 017 and say if you really wanted to flesh out the Halo story in its entirety, you would have to go for a long miniseries. It gives you some of the best options time wise (1-2 hour long episodes, and as many as you need, which is of course restricted by money) So you could really fit a lot of detail into the story. The problem is that miniseries generally receive less funding than movies (except things like Band of Brothers).

Just stating my opinion. I really just wanted to back up my opinion instead of mindlessly posting "I would like a miniseries". Only after I finished did I realize it was very similar to the posts above.

Bungie didn't screw up Marathon and they didn't screw up Myth. With a track record like that, I will trust them not to screw up Halo and wait for them to give us what they think Halo should be.

I agree. I do not understand why so many "gamers" think that a movie is (or would be) somehow "more" than the games that Bungie makes.

Now I would agree, that other games from other companies (yes Virginia, there ARE other game companies) might be (as games) light enough on story to make one want a movie to "fill in the blanks", but Bungie? They make games that are so immersive, so story filled, so character and plot driven that a two hour (or even three hour) film couldn't even begin to contain as much of those things as the hours and hours we get from playing the game.

Besides, what is the biggest complaint from most gamers? Too many cutscenes and cinematics interrupting the flow of the game. Why would I want to pay money to passively watch 2 hours of cinematics and cutscenes if I can be involved and part of an interactive story for weeks at home?

I just don't understand it.

Thats the reason i posted this forum thing to get other peoples opinions. Thank you for your opinion.

I voted other because I think a comic book series would be awesome.
I was never into comic books very much, but I think they tell great
stories. A comic book would have more of an underground type feel
to it anyway, because movies and miniseries are just too commercial
for me. No advertisements, no B.S., just the story.
