A Mythic that I've never seen before? O-o
Not a fan of the community tryhards, although most of the notable ones have moved on, still don't post in here often.

Wake me, when you need me.

Why do I keep coming back? Because they won't let me escape.

That sentence made no sense, but whatevs. Idk, I just love coming here to discuss random things on the flood, and contribute to the majority of Septagon threads. Over the years of posting I know what NOT to do, and the correct thing to do here. I'm familiar with most members (older members). I'm not too fond of the new members because they usually come and go after being banned 20+ times.

This is one website/forum that has actually kept me. It feels like a family because you hop on and see the same posters everyday. This place doesn't get bombarded by noobies, it usually just has a steady flow. Although I'm not opposed to newer tides, I just enjoy the way things already are.

Well, besides all the "trolling" and spamming going on in The Flood recently.

Half Man.
Half Horse.
Half Machine.
All "Jerk Who's Really Bad at Math."

PS
No, I do not want to join your clan/group.

I come here to kill time when I'm bored, hoping for a good discussion that won't degenerate too badly. I enjoy Halo and I love Bungie as a company so I'm always hoping to be able to find some common ground with others here and have a good time.

You don't have to be a mod to get hatemail.

True. I try to be civil with most people here, though I tend to get hate mail accusing me of being a self-righteous jerk or other insults...and somehow I also get hatemail for reporting people that I've never actually reported and for closing their precious threads (despite me not being a ninja). Fun times.

  • 09.18.2011 10:23 PM PDT

I don't know. I came one day, and I just sort of... never left.

EXCUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUSE ME! I'm contributing to the discussion in terms of you having a way to access bungie goods without having to go through your parents. This way, you won't be questioned about this bungie thing. >:| Jeez, don't need to be such a jerk!!!

[Announcement Trailer] Halo: Forerunner

I lol'd at the absurd miscommunication that occurs whenever dibbs post something. Perhaps his brain is so highly evolved that he can no longer clearly communicate with lesser life forms, even among his own species.

I can honestly say I'm a better person than I otherwise would have been for discovering this community (rather than just playing Bungie games). I've always said that B.net is just a microcosm of society; the things you do and see here will have parallels in your "real" life and despite how inane this all sometimes seems, it does help you live it more fully.

Mythic members are like people with tattoos. Just as soon as you become a Mythic member, you can kick anyone's ass. It really works.

PM Policy. By Deus_Ex_Machina

Old habits die hard. Very hard. I come here nearly everynday, but I only post-publicly at least- when I feel like I have something to add to the conversation.

For the record, when you tick over to mythic, you get a letter in the mail saying that every time you don't post productively you have to include the word "old." Also, that you have to express no opinion on the titles. Good times.

When he was younger, he was the one who always had the jokes and riddles that would keep the spirits of the Spartans high. Over the years however, his lifetime of combat had hardened him, as it had all of the Spartans. Within Will, John thought, something special had been lost.

The promise of intriguing discussion and debate. Though, there isn't nearly as much to talk about as when I first joined. I really think '07 was the tail-end of something much greater that I simply missed out on.

I don't know. Think with the amount of time we invest whether lurking or contributing, this place just becomes very familiar. I went through a couple of different stages burning out on the experience after each one. As Mouse put it I was a "try hard" to begin with, feeling like I needed to play catch up, because Halo is something that I've had for much longer predating my activity here. I did what kids in high school do, try to find a place to fit in, and failing what I considered a sense of belonging or seniority in the eyes of others I had to reexamine my motivations for contributing. It hasn't been the case that I've had to find reasons to keep coming back that the OP is getting at, I think I've just grown up and matured quite a bit since I started. I think now, I just love Bungie. I love what this community can be, and I love discussing/arguing over things I'm passionate about.

My Trek to Bungie
Twitter

I always loved this community for being unique to anything the gaming industry and even the internet itself can reproduce. I may have joined in '07 but Bungie always had a lingering presence in me. Once I did finally arrive to this haven. I grown attached to the ideal that a game developer should be in tune with its fans. I got to talk to great people and this site alone has grown my network of devs exponentially. Without bungie.net, I wouldn't have made the connections that I have in the amount of time that I was here.

Thank you b.net members you rock.

One final effort is all that remains
And I am not afraid
We shall fulfill our promise
We fight for the grace of the Mantle
And this time none of you will be left behind

Hell, I have a PM back in 2005 from Stosh telling me to stop blaming him as he wasn't an employee. (I think that means I win though.)

Good question. Don't know, though I can guarantee it was stupid.

You were bagging on me, complaining about how I asked my parents: a response that I expected, which is why I seldom reveal my age around here; I can hardly get a quality reply. Thank you.

OT: These are all pretty cool. I plan on staying for a while.

I've tried to quit on several occassions but whenever I do I find myself with a work schedule filled with time to kill and this is a pretty good site to kill time on.

I prefer this other site that started as a group here back in the day but it's for obvious reasons not as active as B.net so I havent been able to complete the transition.

I just come to Bungie.net to amuse myself, but lately the community has been a tad less entertaining. Step it up!

Bungie.net is like your family; Once you become a bungie, you'll be a bungie forever.

Think of this as a convention for Halo series and all about Bungie, except this is only a virtual reality.
