Subject: Should there be a sticky video card/computer help thread?

Halo 1 > Halo 2
PC > Xbox

So that means Halo PC freakin pwns.
Its basic logic, even an xboxer could understand it (mmmm, maybe thats asking a little too much)

why r u so negative? i think this is a good idea, look at the poll results, other ppl agree wit me

Not negative, not trying to come across like that. But if we enabled that plan, we'd have a LONG sticky and one less reason to post on the forum. Then the only point of the forum would be to allow people to talk about halo...which, you see, is sort of a dead topic, seeing we've exhausted every possible avenue of discussion.

It's easier to see if there's a new post on the Forum than there is to see if there's a new post on a sticky. Besides, someone with a specific graphics card/computer problem wouldn't be able to get the individualized attnetion they deserve. They may, for example, be washed back by someone else's post and the responding answers, leading to flames, multiple posts, and general frustration. Or someone could post without specificying who the post is to, resulting in confusion.

It's a good idea if this forum weren't dedicated to H1PC, but in this setting, it's sorta impractical. Sorry.

but the forum isn't dedicated to H1PC, it's dedicated to Halo on PC, that includes H1PC, HCE and H2Vista.

Technicality. But my point is made. You simply can't stick every individual cry for help into a single conglomerate thread. It's just not practical.

I gotta agree with me15er on that one. What would the use of tech support forums be if you could all throw it together in a single sticky?

Every problem has its own source and solution, and as such every problem should be taken care of in a different thread. I can't even begin to describe the chaos that would emerge in that single sticky when 3 or 4 problems are handled at the same time.

It's not a good idea. Period
