I'm just here to check the meters.

If Destiny is a flop will we Bungie be absorbed into Activision or will they try working on a new project?

While I doubt it will be a flop, they'd probably just start working on their new project.

Bungies game wont be a flop. But, in a twisted, defiled world of evil, Activision would absorb Bunige.

I would almost think Bungie would part of Microsoft than Activision if it came down to that...

But I don't think Destiny will be a flop; Bungie has big plans for this game and they've been developing the backstory and universe it's in for years...since Halo 2, iirc. That's a lot of time to fine-tune and idea and make it something interesting.

Key

What makes you think Activision has any power whatsoever over Bungie? There's no reason they would be absorbed by Activision. They are working on a game together. That's literally like wondering if the New York Jets would be absorbed by the New York Giants because they go to a charity event together that doesn't work out well.

I was, but your mom left early so I had to cut the trip short.

The Bungie team isn't made up of idiots. If you can't trust that they made the right decision then how can you call yourself a bungie fan? They've said that if there was any better offer for a contract then they would have taken it; Activision just gave them a better deal. Bungie is putting everything they can into this new game from what I've heard, and I know they won't disappoint.

Sure it is. Everyone knows Bungie is meticulously watching how loyal we are and will reward us accordingly.

Bungie was developing the Halo universe for Reach for years, and had big plans for it as well. Look how that turned out.

What's the deal with people being blindly optimistic in this thread?!

There's a very real possibility that the next game from Bungie could flop. It has happened before to successful studios.

I guess we'll just have to wait and see.

I remember when I used this space to put cool looking links to my chapters back in the day. I don't even know why I'm using it now. Why are you even reading this? You must be interested in me. Still reading?

Terrible example by the way. More like the pizza place in the the food court at your local mall. The mall supplies them a place to sell their product but the pizza place is still it's own business. The pizza store won't fall under ownership of the mall, simply go out of business if it can't stay afloat.

Now, not saying Bungie is going to go out of business by any means, I don't think Destiny (or whatever it is they are working on) is going to be a flop. Some gamers who felt Reach was a flop might be hesitant to purchase another Halo, right? But this is a whole new title. People will be excited to play the next big thing by Bungie. Everyone knows they rocked the gaming world with Halo so expect "Destiny" to be successful.

I've been a fan of Bungie since I first played Pathways Into Darkness back in 1995. I have confidence they'll deliver like they always do. This question is just purely a shot in the dark, hypothetical what if.
