Except in keeping teammates alive. Chief has a really bad habit of getting folks killed.

Really? I mean really? I'm guessing your example would be Reach, right? The situation were the S-IIs were sent to their deaths against immpossible odds with little choice otherwise? Or fighting in zero-gee while vastly outnumbered? He kept his squad alive (Besides Sam) for close to 30 years, and then you say he has a track record of getting people killed. So I guess that means Kurt has a bad record too right, because apparently one immpossible battle with many deaths overwrites his entire career aswell? What about NOBLE Team, they don't exactly have the best record of keeping people alive either, by your logic anyways.

Actually my examples span the series.

Arthur- The Package
Solomon- The Package
Sam- The Fall of Reach
Red Team (majority)- The Fall of Reach
Anton- First Strike
Li- First Strike
Vihn- First Strike
Isaac- First Strike
Sheila Polaski- First Strike
Srgt. Johnson- Halo 3

All the marines/ODSTs in silent cartographer mission. The ODST pair in his warthog especially. Though I suppose only the pair with him in the warthog count...

Arthur-Umm Covenant trap that Master Chief couldn't have saved him from anyways.
Solomon-^
Sam-Their first encounter with the Covenant, first combat in the suit, and that is Sam's fault for getting hit. That's like blaming Kat's death on NOBLE 6.
Red Team-What was he supposed to do? He wasn't even on the ground, he left tactical control to FRED.
First Strike Deaths- What do you want him to do in those situations? Jump in front of the plasma?
Johnson- really? REALLY? How the hell is that Chief's fault that Sparky went balistic and shot him?

This just shows me your contempt for Master Chief. Couldn't I say the same thing about Kurt? By your logic, he let just about everyone on Onyx die. What about Carter? Seargent Forge? Thel Vadam?

I also hope you realise that like 70% of your examples happened within the period of 2 years when Humanity was on its last breath, and in those encounters, the odds were heavily stacked against them.

Really? He is supposed to save everyone on board? ESPECIALLY when his orders were specifically to get himself and Cortana off of the ship as soon as possible. What about when he went around and saved all those Marines? Or when he saved those Marines in Palace Hotel. Hell, it was Jenkins and McKay that killed the majority of the PoA's crew.

HA chief can kill the whole noble 6 team! If he was in Lone Wolf he would kill everyone, hijack a phantom go to earth and blow up a covenant crusier on his way home.

Now, they received the exact same augmentations bar one. It is called medical ADVANCES cause there to be a 0% washout rate.

And it's also been stated that S3 training was more intensive and better then Spartan 2 training, so your line about "In universe they say S2's are better then S3's in all ways." is false.

Spartan III
Drug: 87556-UD61
Greatly improves the individual's reaction time, decreasing the time taken to react by 300%. "Spartan time".

Spartan II
Procedure: Superconducting Fibrification of Neural Dendrites.
Alteration of bioeletrical nerve transduction to shielded electronic transduction. 300% increase in subject reflexes. Anecdotal evidence of marked increase in intelligence, memory, and creativity.

That's one example.

'Spartan-IIIs were designed to be cheaper, and more expendable than Spartan-IIs. However, Spartan-IIIs still received most of the augmentations that Spartan-IIs did.'

There's another.

And, as one last thing, Spartan III's did not receive surgery, they were simply injected with various drugs. (nearly the same augmentations, less effective, extremely low death-rate.)

Spartan III's can only boast being more mobile than a Spartan II.

Actually, Sam pushed John out of the way of the bolt and so, his suit was breached.

Okay, so that was suddenly Master Chief's fault for being shot at and Sam sacrificing himself? Maybe if they knew what they were fighting I would agree, but the Covenant were were completely new to them at that point.

Jezus christ the anti-Master Chief posts on this site can easily rival the hate post for the Chief on Factpile.

Wow not even the MC haters on Factpile ever stated this and that says alot...

He did nothing to stop him, or go "Hold up, that's an order." after Solomon went "Screw waiting, let's go!"

Pretty funny how some say Carter is a bad leader because Kat talks back to him, yet Solomon disobeys a direct order and yet Chief is somehow a better leader.

So because Solomon died because he disobeyed an order from Chief that would've saved his life suddenly means that it was Chief that got him killed?

No. Solomon didn't disobey any order, as Chief never gave one. Kelly said "Let's wait for Chief." and Solomon went "No, going in!"

It is chief's fault because HE didn't order Solomon to hold up, despite going him "Something's not right here." HE let Solomon charge ahead.
