Subject: Titles

Es ist Zeit für einige Gefahr-pay

The titles need more in my opinion, something tagged to the end. Like "Fabled Mythic Member of ______". I just don't think the titles stress just how serious they are and how much better each of the higher tiers are from the other.

I don't think that you should look at certain titles being better than others. I have seen many more people with higher titles act like morons than people with simply Member as their title.

Titles keep people from misbehaving. If you've been here for a while and want to keep your title, chances are you won't break the rules in order to keep it. Titles also show who is active and who is not to some extent.

The OP is about prefixes.

My bad. Still, the same thing applies. Someone with Fabled is most likely very active, while someone with Exalted is unlikely to break the rules.

Have A Nice Day!

Commander, CammCam's Queensguard; Sapphire Mod; 34th Seat, Table of Avalon(Exiled);Captain, HAND

yolo? -blam!- that! YOLTOSS!! You Only Live Twice or Some -blam!-

I actually break the rules consistently, if by rules you meant "to the letter." Now, I haven't been banned or warned in almost 3 years so I understand how I would have exalted. I don't understand how people I use to post with back in the day are now blue bar and I'm just plain jane. Not complaining, and I have read the criteria for all that, but I'm confused a bit is all. Anyway OP, it doesn't matter. We know who the cool people are....right?

Interesting.

I can see why the prefixes are there more than the main titles. The main ones don't actually tell you a thing, at least with prefixes you can tell if they've been around a long time or haven't been warned in a couple of years.

Mourne not your comrades who must dwell / too strong to strive -
Within each steel-bound coffin of a cell, / Buried alive;
But rather mourne the apathetic throng / The cowed, and the meek -
Who see the world’s great anguish and its wrong / And dare not speak.

iirc, they were meant to give "members" something special in their title so they didn't have to wait a year to see progress. I think it also had something to do with adding variation.

People complain about titles (or about people talking about titles) all the time, but I wonder if there's any sort of data on their affect on the average member. The kind who never post in the spetagon or the flood, I mean. The only downside I've ever really seen to them is that some newer people think posting a lot will get them a title faster. Other than that it's just been meta discussions and meta-meta discussions in here, and honestly that's just going to happen about something, isn't it?

I have broken many rules. Yet for some reason I always return to "Fabled" within a day.

Then like I said, it is serving it's purpose. It shows you are active and post often, which is what it is meant to do.
