If you think about it, if you work for Bungie, then you can get things like the Haunted Helmet, which will save you about 1300 hours of gaming time. On top of that you get paid to do awesome things like making games that go on to make millions. I'd work for Bungie just for the perks, would you? I mean, yes the money isn't going to be anything as much as what Cristiano Ronaldo or Tiger Woods makes, but... and this is a very big but...
We aren't either of the two so we might as well live life to our capabilities and make it worthwhile doing something we love!

No. I'm fairly confident I would not sign a contract agreeing to give me a virtual armor permutation in a video game in exchange for years of service, with no money exchanged.

Why do people in ship mutinies always ask for "better treatment"? I'd ask for a pinball machine, because with all that rocking back and forth, you'd get a lot of free games.

Maybe in order to understand mankind, we have to look at the word itself: "Mankind". Basically, it's made up of two separate words - "mank" and "ind". What do these words mean? It's a mystery, and that's why so is mankind.

If by perks you mean dental care, eye care, and a 401k(?), yes.

You are assuming that this is something that everyone spends time on. I assure you, that is not the case.

No, I prefer to work for money.

I spend too much time here.. too much time indeed.

I tweet?

Now that's where it's at. Gotta keep healthy and plan for life after retirement.

Too bad you actually have to work at work to maintain those perks.

I don't think that working inside Bungie as a walk in the park. Those virtual perks are just nice for whenever I have nothing better to do and sit on a couch to play a video game.

I'm pretty sure the whole "full time pay with benefits" part is much more thrilling than the exclusive game content.

This assumes both that I would plan on playing for those 1300 hours of game time anyway and that I'd play them only for the helmet and not because I enjoy the game. So no, it wouldn't actually save me time.On top of that you get paid to do awesome things like making games that go on to make millions. I'd work for Bungie just for the perks, would you?As much as we all like to say we aren't all about money, we do need some of it to provide our food, shelter, transportation, etc., so no. That would require me being dependent on someone else, or on the government, and I'd prefer that not be the case.

“Strange,” mused the Director, as they turned away, “strange to think that even in Our Ford’s day most games were played without more apparatus than a ball or two and a few sticks and perhaps a bit of netting. imagine the folly of allowing people to play elaborate games which do nothing whatever to increase consumption.”

The Black Chapter!

This, kids, is why insuring with swiftcover.com is a really good plan.

Umm, if you're successful enough to be able to work at Bungie, the last thing in your priorities will be to get the Haunted Helmet..

Hi I'm RT and I like to argue!

I don't think kids understand that working for Bungie is a challenging prospect, not a place where some kewl gais (who don't afraid of anything) just sit back and chill and crank out sweet Halo games between Slayer sessions.

Yeah, eye candy is fun, but I'd be there to do the job. Heck, I might not even want to play after I got home after a full day of work making fancy pixels.

You'd think so, but in fact we all started out playing Reach after release with nothing unlocked except the Bungie flames. The theory was that it would give us a player's-eye view of the credit system.

Per Audacia Ad Astra

There is more to making a game than receiving in-game attributes.
The feeling of being in a team, all relying on each other and enjoying the friendly atmosphere. You get to fuel your addiction of designing, programming, modelling or producing another section of the game.
Money is also another reason. A fine income, a well-paid job.
Make games, pay for luxuries, enjoy life; and make more games.
