Look OP, it's OK to be putting up a good discussion, but there's a difference between discussing and spewing hatred. And this thread is just oozing it.

Youre welcome to say that anything takes skill, but it also takes skill to properly counter it. And he did just that. I'm failing to see the issue here.

You say it takes skill to properly counter it, but the issue is that you can counter a stick without any skillful action. You just press a button and his efforts are vanished.

Im astonished at how angry you are over this. Seriously.

Yes, some people abuse that button and fail to realize when to properly use it. He did.

all that video showed was you spamming grenades.

Am I spamming Grenades if I pick up one of the two Plasma Grenades that spawn on opposite sides of Anchor 9 every 30 seconds and stick someone with it? If not, then why does Armor Lock punish me with the same severity as someone who is "spamming"?

My point was that he only threw grenade after grenade until his target died, he didn't try anything else. Thats spamming.

There's nothing skillful about allowing players to retroactively fix their mistakes. It doesn't reward reflexes or awareness, it's like giving Dodgeball players a chance to negate a successful tag by clapping their hands within a second of being hit. Reward the people who have the reflexes to react in anticipation, not the people who have the reflexes to respond retroactively.

Once again, I'm failing to see the issue here.

OP failed in this sense as well, since you're putting it that way, that he failed to learn from his own mistakes and try a different method of killing him.

Plasma Grenade shedding was one of the points of Armor Lock. How can you not say that a strong shield emitting from the suit and going out does not remove any objects stuck onto you?

I'm not angry at him, I'm angry....

I noticed.

Bungie added a few extra twists into the game. If you cant comprehend that, then maybe you should just move on?

She for whom time has spun

I don't know, back when I used to use it regularly it seemed like I got killed through armor lock more than it came in handy. Straight up stuck and beaten down through it.

It doesn't matter how many grenades the OP threw, the first one successfully stuck the Armor Locker, that's all that should have been required to kill him.

I also like how you arbitrarily defined Armor Lock as a shield that should be capable of removing objects that have molecularly fused themselves to your armor. Even more mysterious is how such a powerful shield doesn't end up ejecting all the weapons and grenades and armor plates from your body whenever it is used. Personally a shield that encapsulates stuck objects makes far more sense from both a gameplay standpoint and a reality standpoint, but that would just be my sane viewpoint.

Tell you what. Let's wager some money on a couple of games of Rock Paper Scissors. Here's how it's going to work. First, you choose either Rock, Paper, or Scizzors, and then you show me your choice. Then I get to choose my response. If you win, I give you $5, if I win, you give me $5. You game? It's fair, just like Plasma Grenade Shedding!

Im not evading anything. Im reading your posts and Im responding.

No, they are twists you dont appreciate. There's a huge difference.

Any good and competent players knows when a change is good or not.

Just look at MLG, it is the brighter example. Do you see Armor Lock in there?

Actively taking armor abilities and weapons out of the game is silly; at some point you aren't even playing Halo anymore.

The best part is that now, thanks to 343 being amazing, people who want change will have it and people who don't can still play the default game. Everyone wins.

I have zero care for MLG. It's a video game. Should be enjoyed, not another field of competition.

And what's wrong with that? I should have left him alone just because he had AL? I should have gone for a melee battle which would have probably resulted in my death as AL owners can use the blinking melee glitch?
Sticking someone is not easy business in most cases, and surely it is harder than just press one button.

I just think there are other, more practical ways of killing an armor lock player.

However, since i don't know how you play, how good you are, and what your combat strong suit is, it really doesn't matter too much. Personally, I can beat guys like that in a melee fight. I do it all the time, and its funny as hell when they rage into a mic about it. if you can't, well thats your business, and I won't judge.

You're not playing Reach anymore. That's what you meant, right?
Because by removing armor abilities out of the game you would just get closer to Halo, not otherwise.

Your failing to see her view. Reach is where Bungie took Halo. Right now.

Right now, that's where it is. If you take things away now, you are deviating further from it.

And if you argue, "Well what about Halo 3? Or 2?" That was Halo in the past. We're not in the past.

EDIT: Fixed. ;)

Do explain then, I'm curious. What would you have done if you were me?

If you can beat AL users in melee fights then you're fighting against incompetent players. The rare times I use AL I usually just wait for someone to come close to me. When they are going to hit me with a melee, I AL, then I come out and I punch them. They are dead, I'm alive.
You think I'm lying? Check this. Now I dare you to say AL is not flawed.

First off, paragraphs are your friend.

Secondly, I see no problem there either. I see a bunch of idiots trying to melee someone in AL...

There have been 3 huge games before Reach. Halo: CE, Halo 2 and Halo 3.
You can't change almost everything in the blink of an eye and still call the game Halo.
What if Bungie created a game just like CoD and called it "Halo: Future Warfare"? Would you say it is a Halo, even though it is in fact not a Halo game and the only thing that relates it to the Halo franchise is the trademark? Because that's what you and her are saying.

But, if it has Halo characters and concepts, it is a Halo game.

Im, again, failing to see your argument.

They can. They did. This is sounding more like you having an issue of not being able to accept things, which is more your problem than Bungie's, 343's, or mine.

Yes. If the people who made Halo (be it Bungie, 343, or Ensemble/Robot) make a game with the Halo title that is set in the Halo universe, then it's a Halo title.

Again, this is sounding more like you being irrational than having a solid point.
