I've posted this before, but this seems the correct place to post it. This program I made copies all output from a HaloPC DS console (I've tested it with versions 1.03 through 1.05 and it works). If you read the included readme, it will explain how you can use this on multiple consoles.

Download:
Download Binaries

If you want a basic explanation of how it works, then:
It gets the PID of the Halo DS console, reads its memory, and parses it and spits it out to a text file.

If you want a very in-depth explanation, download the source code (C++): Downlo ad Source Code
Please excuse my bad coding style :o

Hopefully you guys might find it useful. Even if you don't have any use for it, the source code will give you a basic understanding of how to get information from memory (i.e. player locations, health status, projectile locations, etc.).

Aye, I don't think there are too many admins visiting this forum at this time. Unfortunately, I don't think there is that much interest in a logfile for PC to begin with, because people have been without one for so long that any ideas related to a logfile have long since fizzled in people's minds. Plus, if an admin wanted something like that, they could just switch to CE (the pros and cons of which can be debated for ages).

But don't get me wrong Kybo. What you're doing kicks ass, and if I were running a PC DS I'd definitely let you know what I thought of it. I'm surprised this hasn't gotten more of a response in the places you've posted it, as it's a useful and thoughtful tool.

People, let him know how it works for you! :P

Thanks. I made this because I know that there are more people playing Halo PC than Halo CE, and I was thinking that I could add support for chat logging. With that, you can make a HST-like tool (and/or have them add suppot), and then you can do things like say:

"!vote map bloodgulch"

during a game and vote on the map and such.
