Where were you when the Towers fell on 9/11? I was in gym, at school.

If you had a particularly interesting experience or were in NY when it happened, feel free to tell your stories. No one will disrespect you. This thread also ties in with Mastercheif004's thread. If you post here, please leave a message or story in his thread.

I was also in gym class. It was my turn to lead the warmups, the gym teacher (Mr. Harris) came and told us what hade happened. This girl I knew started to cry so i took her into the library, she said that her Oldest brother worked at the twin towers, and that she was worried. so we talked the rest of the school day. She became my girlfriend later on that year.

I remember when I first heard. I was on the road heading to school. I was trying to arrange an interview with a company and they had put me on hold. Like many companies they play the local radio station when they put you on hold. I listened in disbelief as the news streamed in not exactly sure what was going on. I finished the phone call and called a friend right away. I told them to turn on their TV and to tell me what was going on.

All I heard was her saying oh my God over and over again. Finally she started to discribe the scene to me. Well finally I arrived at school. My first class was golf and I knew they had a TV up in the club house. So I rushed up there and joined a crowd forming around the TV. There where no words exchanged everyone just stood there in silence. I just remember thinking how, why, oh my God help us...

It started as rumors spread throughout my middle school. It started with one kid waking up late and catching parts of the news… later one kid turned on a TV during science class. I was immature at that point, and the true nature of such news did not hit me for quite a while. I was joking around with everyone else, making light of the situation. Only after I got home and turned on the news did I realize the grave nature of the circumstance. It hit me, and I went numb. I still clung to the tough façade that it was naught, but deep down inside I was torn apart.

My middle school was literally across the street from a potential terrorist target (won't say which one) so everyone was extremely scared. By 1:00 that day, over 75% of the students had gone home early. Scary stuff man, scary stuff.

i saw it on the news in the morning. (i live in australia). i was in shock. and then i remembered when i was staying in the states with an american family that there dad worked in that area of new york. so i sent and email. turned out he was ok which relived me alot. and then in October in indonesia when there was another terrorist attack and over 200 australians were killed and more injured it brang back the feeling from sep 11.
but you think about the 3000 ppl killing in 9/11 and then how about the 10000 Iraq'i civilians killed during the war by the americans. and think how you felt about 9/11, think about wat they feel...

the teachers wouldn't even tell us what happened (i was in 7th grade at the time). one by one almost all the students in my classes were getting taken home.
EXCEPT FOR ME!, i was scared -blam!-less and had no clue what was going on. We ended up getting out of school early but i still had no clue why!

o, an interesting little fact, my mom is a nurse in the emergency room in the air force and we were stationed at Dover, DE then so they 'coptered in all the bodies from the pentagon to be autopsied. and my mom was one of the few that had to deal with those dead bodies, everyday for 2 weeks.

I was sleeping. I think. I remember watching it on the News that morning, and then I went to school, and we had a talk about it there.

Actually, the school year before that, a good teacher of mine retired. She took a trip around USA, and visited NY. On September ninth, she stood on top of the North Tower. Little did she know, that in two days, that Tower would be history. Literally. Must have been quite a scary thought for her afterwards.

I remember someone telling me that World War III was possible now. I took comfort in the fact that hopefully no one would send a nuke to Kelowna.

2. Blame-ability thy name is stosh.
3. Bungie has no control over retail prices.
4. Watch out for low-flying defense drones.
5. Seven is not optional, but rather, an inevitability.

I was at school. I didn't know what all the teachers were talking about, until I saw the news in study hall. Then everyone went into a frenzy talking about why it happened and who did it.

I was in 7th grade, remember them calling all the calsses to the commons where we watched the news and stuff on a cheap TV. I was sitting there when tehy were interviewing that woman live and she started yelling about the second one getting ran into right behind her. I was so scared that day. Then we got to go upstairs the rest of the day.

I was watching BBC Parliament (yes I'm British and can be very boring) at home on TV. Flicked over to CNN and saw the whole thing unravel Live. It was the sports news and then they cut to the breaking news of the first plane hitting (it had only happened like 3 minutes before hand aswell). Lot's of memories that day all for the wrong reasons. And I never thought I'd see anything like that in my lifetime; it really hit home just how sick and screwed up some people are.

I was at my house getting ready for school. I just got up and saw the news. Once I saw the second plan fly into the towers. (I wasn't up when the first plane flew into the towers) The only thing people talked about at school was 9/11.

Was in a school assembly. I always hated assemblies. Wasn't told about it until 6th hour. Luckily I live in Missouri and the only thing worth ever getting hit by a terrorist attack is St.Louis, which is only about a half an hour away.

I will never forget about that day though. Mostly because TV only had news about the towers for a month.

I was in the libray at school doing math when the libraian wheeled a TV in there and there was one tower burning. I though, "Wow, big fire," then i saw the second plane hit and i said holy -blam!-! then they said the pentagon was attacked and we wathc ed the news the rest of the day and they got footage of a security cam right on the floor where a plane hit. It freaked me out.
