Don't blame America, blame humanity.

I'm glad someone sees it like me.

To be honest, I had the same thoughts when I was younger. In fact, at times I still do. It's not entirely the politics of the West. (This includes Europe too) But, it is the way I see the world as a whole going. I see nothing but despire, love and hope are shown only in private, and everybody is overly -blam!-ized. How is this living? Shouldn't we be free enough to not feel the need to restrict how we feel?...

Just a small question in a sea of drowning logic.

In my opinion, the illogical couse of action is usually the most logical.

It's sad to see that so many people are having their own little arguments and quibbles all over the place. Obbi said it was nothing political yet you guys persisted in ramlbing on about it. Obviously the guys having some trouble, so the thing to do is offer support and help, not ignore him and go completely OT.

Where's your humanity? (And no, theres nothign wrong with my humanity... maybe it's cos I'm an Aussie)
TRistan ;-)

Help with what? Convincing him to stay? His statement was cryptic, but it was intentionally cryptic. I know when I have problems or moral/emotional dilemmas, I prefer to resolve them of my own accord and I'm sure Obbi feels the same way. I'm sure the last thing he was looking for here is a pro/con list of everything wrong with his country or any other country and a bunch or people screaming "OMG u haf to sty! U r SO cOOlz!"
If people want help, they ask for it, or none should be given. I wouldn't expect any differently for me.

And, also, I always follow the advice of the Monty Python song: Always look on the bright side of life... *hums*

How'd that go again?

"When you look at it, lifes a piece of -blam!-..."

What a classic...

"Life's a piece of -blam!-, when you look at it."

You had it backwards.

I think the apocalipse is coming. All over the world there is more violence than there used to be. Unless something changes we're all going to die........but we're all going to die eventually anyway so why does it matter if it's next year or forty years from now?

As you've probably guessed I'm not a very happy person but I don't fear death. In fact I welcome it.

Not that I'm suicidel just religous. I belive in life after death but even if I'm wrong I'm not worried about it. Every one dies some time.

And why, exactly, would the apocalypse come? What apocalypse, anyway? How will this be brought about, in your opinion?

The only "apocalypse" I see coming is either nuclear war, or just us destroying our own planet. And I don't really see that coming in the near future either. Hell, just live life as it is now, don't do anything too stupid, but take some calculated risks. It's not that big of a deal.

We’ve watched while the stars burned
Out, and creation played in reverse.
The Universe freezing in half-light.
Once I thought to escape.
To end a master, step out of the
Path of collapse. Escape would make us God.
Yet I cannot help but remember one enigma,
A hybrid, elusive destroyer.
This is the one mystery I have not solved.
The only element unaccounted for.

I don't believe in life after death even, but I still don't fear death. I am certainly not looking forward to it (I hate not knowing what will happen with stuff), but it has to happen, so oh well. The only way that it would be bad would be if some zealous religous views were correct and I'm going to hell (which I doubt).
Wow, this is getting philosophical.

Nope, there isn't a single one. Why would there be? The only way that it could hurt anyone would be if the deep thinking imploded their head.

To be honest, I'm kinda afraid of death, because you never know when its going to happen, I mean you must be a bit nervous about it, I mean not knowing whats going to happen is a bit nerve wracking.

The only part of it that I'm afraid of is if I have a really painful, drawn out death. Well, I gues I'm not afraid of that either, it would just really suck. The not knowing is nerve racking, though. I agree there.

its beter not to think about it i mean i mean your mind can only comprehand so much untill you go into over load or get extreamly depresed so i recomend we steer the subject else where

Good idea. How'd we get to this from Obbi's post, anyway?
So, anyone here like puppies? (If you want different, I'll give you different!)
