At 343, or rather, halo.xbox.com, there seems to be a lot more interaction between the employees, moderators, and ninja's than there is here at Bnet. On the other hand, I understand why Bnet's kind of gone dark. Theyre busy at work on their next epically awesome project, and I doubt they have the time to browse and interract with the community as much...

Your thoughts??

We put a lot of thought into the dialog we have with you guys and girls, and for a lot of reasons I can't really get into we decided that this was the right approach. With time, it'll make more sense.

They try to interact with us as much as they can. Like you stated, it's hard to balance time to browse the forums when they're in the middle of a project.

It's fine with me, however. Although they probably don't post as much, they do listen to our ideas and such when it comes to either games or new features on this site.

That's understandable.^^

But at the same time, 343's also busy at work on the next 4 Halo's, and yet they are able to interract with the community a lot as well.

I think it's just fine. I was a Halo fan, but I became a Bungie fan. I think this is one of the best forums and will continue to hang around here. Plus, I have seen a good amount of interaction on the forums the past few weeks. It's not as heavy as it used to be, but right now it's business hours, on a business day, with a team busy creating so I don't expect too much interaction.

Bnets forums (mainly the community) are far better than 343's I would say.

Yes, we already established that in the OP.

The community interaction between employees and members at halo.xbox.com seems pretty lackluster to me. BS Angel is the main community person at 343, and IMO, she sucks. She really pales in comparison next to Urk. She spends like 5 minutes to write a mediocre news story then spends the rest of her shift there just posting on the website.

I much rather prefer the way Bungie interacts with their fan-base.

Bungie have gone dark, so you aren't going to see a lot of interaction from them until they release some info. That being said, there is still quite a lot of interaction from certain employees (DrBunsenHoneydew, urk and Achronos.)

The moderators are as active as they usually are (at least the ones that post a lot are, anyway) and so I'm not seeing your point on the lack of moderator to member interaction.
Besides, you should view the moderators as normal members for the most part and not as guystobanppl. If they want to contribute they will, and when they do, most of the time it is from a community member stand point, not a moderator one.

I really didn't think that I would need to further explain my point... His is saying that they went dark so they don't slip on something or give people the wrong impression with things they say, imo. Thus, they aren't going to just go posting around all the time. Regardless, they post more than enough. Usually anything they say derails a thread or brings all of the brown nosers out of their holes. Honestly, stuff gets derailed enough by people quoting Ninjas for stupid reasons.

Interaction? I'm looking all the golden screws in this forum and I think for being dark, there still is a lot of "interaction".

Im familiar with BS Angel but not with IMO. I guess you could take the halo subject to a certain point before it gets boring, but the thing with bungie is the fact that there are multiple forums with tons of different subjects and posts.

And yes, Urk is frikin amazing.

Nope. Nobody is paler than the ginger.

Also, both bs angel and urk are wonderful community guys/gals. But they certainly have their own styles, and it seems pretty stupid to say that one person "sucks" at being a community person because you happen to like someone else's style better. Also, it's important to keep in mind that interacting with the community on a certain forum is only one small part of a much larger role at the company for both urk and jess.

And to the OP: while 343i's community is for the most part located on one website and one set of forums, it's extremely important to remember that the Bungie community spans dozens of websites around the world. And even here on Bungie.net, our forums are incredibly active, fast-moving, and span numerous different games and topics. It's REALLY important to remember that just because you don't happen to see interaction on the current page of the current forum on the current website you happen to be on, does NOT mean that it's not happening.

Really, I'll always be for this. What's better to bring a community together than the bringer themselves? Cookies don't count.

Honestly though, no matter how much I hope, pray, bribe, or blackmail, I don't think they'll ever be as active as we would all like them to be. These past few months the employees have been insanely active - by their standards. Which has been awesome to see from the side-lines.

But, that time is slowing to a crawl from the looks of things. So, now what? We wait - wait for them to once again bask in our glory.

Bungie is a much smaller team that most other game makers.

As previously mentioned, Bungie has gone dark. On that note, however, they still seem to interact quite a bit with the community.
