Playing Halo 2 Vista and Halo 3 until Halo 5 comes out.

My 0.02 K/D KiDs

Never touching ranked alone again on H3 after 2010. :)

This is basically the only way I can play the god of all Halo MP, but it has a population of less than 100... Why are the servers so inactive? The Halo Custom Edition servers are packed compared to Halo 2

Simple Answer: It sucks

Yeah. That's right. I don't have a 50 in H3. I never got Onyx in Reach. If a game sucks too much, I won't even bother trying for such trivial "accolades". Besides, I've done way more things that take far more skill and talent than anything that can be done in a video game.

You just answered your own question.

I'll keep it simple; PC players have significantly higher standards than console gamers. Whereas console players flocked to a game that had terrible wanna-be-pro breeding multiplayer (H2), we PC gamers prefer something that's actually skill-based and bears a much higher fun factor (HPC).

Your noob-catering game is no more. Deal.

DusK pretty much hit the nail on the head here, as a PC game, Halo 2 Vista failed in almost all basic aspects such as good m+k support (even with higher than 60fps) and lacking mod tools or a decent tag editor, causing modders to rather stay with Halo CE than H2V. I don't mind H2V for short periods of time, but i'd rather play vanilla gametype's instead of these coagulation/lockout fiesta stuff. Bottom line, H2V is only going to die, enjoy it while you can.

Woah...that just happened...again !

Well it seems as though if you do not have the IDEAL windows computer your out of luck with playing it. I've got a brand spanking new PC and because i chose to use a Nvidia 540m I'm stuck siting out.

I think it comes down to it being quite old now... People have moved on to newer games.

That said, I still play C&C Generals ZH every day...

I started playing it almost a year ago and the servers werent so inactive as they are now... It actually felt like it was full of life still (and hackers :P) but now its almost completely empty and i feel like i wasted 10 bucks now...

Sometimes, I dream about cheese.

i think its because HALOs main platform is the console: xbox/xbox 360, PC was just a secondary feature for MS to make more $, HALO C.E was successful even on PC because that was the king of FPS at the time where its only competition was counter strike which didnt stand a chance, HALO 2 was released way too late: almost 2 and a half years after its console release so a fraction of the population moved on from HALO 2 when the 360 came out to games like GOW, lost planet... you also needed vista to play HALO 2 which most people didnt have at the time so thats probably another reason it wasnt so successful.

No kidding. Hell, UT '99 constantly had triple the player count of HPC at any given time.

UT and Counter Strike always (or atlest almost always) have/had more players than Halo 1.

They were great games... I just wish I hadn't have let my "friend" "borrow" them for "a while". Then he moved away.

Damn you Jack...

I'm not much of a PC gamer, I only play about 3 PC games but Halo 2 is the one I play the most. I'm just more active on Halo 2 than Halo PC and I prefer it but that's most likely because Halo 2 was my first online game and that was back when I was 11 or 12, and when I first played CE I was about 7, but I couldn't play it with anyone except my brother so getting a fun game out of that was boring. I understand that Halo CE is very fun and skill based and I'm active on that at times also, but Halo 2 needs some love too.

Needs a lot more than love if PC gamers are gonna take it seriously.
