The level sacred Icon confused me just a bit, why exactly is the prophet relinquishing The Elites armor to the brutes?

Sometimes, I dream about cheese.

1 - because the elites failed to protect regret (even though it wasn't their fault, the prophets denied the supreme commanders access to intervene the battle in the temples on delta halo)

2 - because brutes are more gullible then elites so putting them in command and secretly planning to exterminate the elite race will reduce the risk of the prophets plans.

Behind the literal reasoning, you can also infer that it is because the prophets are greedy and want total control, specifically Truth.

The Prophets and Elites founded the Covenant together and supposedly are of the same authority in the Covenant as its leaders, even though the Prophets are more religious about it opposed to the Elite's fighting fury.

In order to assume complete control over the Covenant, one of the two factions must somehow render the other inactive in their authoritative status. Thus, Truth being who he is, the Elites were stripped of their rights and privileges.

Yeah, in the end it was a tactical blunder by truth on the order of Hitlers push into russia in the winter. Its basically cost them the war, and saved humanity in the process.

Truths final scene in the arks control room was his berlin bunker moment.

Yeah, it was a little like Hitler, except Truth wasn't quite as stupid. Hitler went at Moscow twice in the winter, he didn't learn a thing the first time.

Agreed.

Both Truth and Hitler had one thing in common, they both died and their empires were destroyed beyond repair.
