I agree with the last poster about speculation. Nobody is really giving 343 a chance. In all honesty, the more you guys suspect they will desetroy the franchise, the more they will grow dissatisfied with it and want to scrap the whole thing together thanks to silly side-comments and pessimism.
Think about it. Would you want to take up a project everyone assumes you already suck at doing?
The amount of apathy they are giving the books worries me. Don't get me wrong, Cryptum and Evolutions are great, but the constant re-releases of the old books filled with more errors, such as the 2542 date in The Fall of Reach and the Visual Guide saying Halo 3: ODST didn't have an AR in it, make me very skeptical about the care they put into projects.
Heck, they released "Definitive Editions" of the three first books AFTER they re-released them before Reach came out. Yet nothing really charged. To me, it just seems like a cash grab move.
Do you know why they released Definitive Editions?
No you don't.
Silence.
Do you know why the error was made?
No you don't.
Silence.
1. Nope. Hence why I said SEEMS like a cash grab to ME.
2. Because someone at 343 fails at proof reading.
1. The publisher demands it.
2. Error on publisher's end, not 343i.
