Tor, not microsoft.
It's not like if they're going to have a 343i guy over there 24/24 365/365.

I would expect the folks at 343 to know Halo 3: ODST had an AR in it. And I find it odd you act like 343 has no say in any of this.

You seem to make a big deal out of a small error. The rest is still well written.
So tell me, do you live in a perfect home and go to perfect places?

It was on the publisher's ends.
Trying to debate it is like trying to debate that the Earth is not flat in this present time.

343 has already betrayed my trust by destroying the halo universe with halo wars. They don't know anything about halo and one of there top imployes is the one who made the defining
choice to take dual wielding out of the games. proving my point since when did master chief have a jet pack?
they're going to turn halo into a game like cod, ok gameplay but a -blam!- story and multiplayer.

... You're ignorant.
Halo wars is canon and doesn't break canon.
The guys at bungie decided to remove dual wielding.
John does not have a jet pack.
Edit: Also, 343i did not make halo wars. But they did influence the increase of population.

LOLWUT? There's so much wrong with this post I don't know where to start...

1) 343 wasn't even around when Halo Wars was made, they had no involvement with it at all.

2) Halo Wars is canon, it does not break established canon (things like shields on Red Team are simply for gameplay purposes and gameplay =/= canon).

3) Frankie isn't in charge of the gameplay, he's the franchise development manager, not a gameplay designer.

4) The "jetpack" was shown in a non-canonical CGI trailer. It has been confirmed that any changes to John's armour will have an explanation.

5) Oh, that's great, you've played Halo 4, 5 and 6 then? Can I borrow your TARDIS to see for myself? -_-

I have no reason to believe they will or won't do harm to the Halo franchise. At present they havent made anything substantial, though I must admit the Halo 4 trailer did disappoint me a great deal.

Like ajw said, we have to wait.

Still, they could've really made the "Definitive Editions" really Definitive by incorporating new content from Reach and clarified issues the community had issues with, such as Jun's actual fate and the bizarre timeline. Nope. They may not publish the book, but they make the content. That is how I feel. Telling me to be silent, which is laughable, won't make me suddenly kiss 343's ass.

Maybe they wanted to keep Nylunds book's original as possible,Nylund wouldn't be happy if half of his book was completely rewritten

No way. Why would Microsoft destroy the very majestic, very successful Halo franchise? I think the spirit of the Halo Games will transfer well.

It's not a small error as I take it. I mean, the re-releases were put out to FIX errors/clear things up/improve upon certain points. Yet there are errors through the book?

I'm not judging until halo 4 and glasslands has more information out/are released, but right not it's not looking the best from the little information we have.

Re-release was because the pulisher demanded it. They used

Publisher demanded it so they took that opportunity to add a few things. Then the publisher makes an error and it comes out like that. My guess is after they approved of it, someone somehow made an error and it changed whole dates, unknowinly and then they were shipped so it was too late. That's what I think happened.

From what I've seen them do, specially in waypoint, and hear them say, when I talk to sevral employees, I know that they will do good.

I can't wait to see the visuals! I hear they look amazing.

This is what actually happened.

It looked like they used the wrong base to apply the edits.

...

Am the the only one who finds it a little odd that the PUBLISHER would demand a reprint/definitive edition?

That's what I'm getting from here, Microsoft and 343 had nothing to do with it, or very little and it was all the publisher. Which sounds fishy.

Guess why that's why he signed on to write Halsey's Journal that incorporated elements from the game that didn't follow his book.

Yeah, I don't follow. Seems like he is just trying to make excuses for 343 and putting all of the blame on Tor.

Despite the fact that Kevin Grace on HBO said that 343 used the wrong edition to apply the edits to. They probably used the 2001 edition rather than the later ones which had the 2542 typo removed.

True, but I'm still wondering what he means by format.

Honestly they should've made completely sure they dealt with those errors before shipping it out.
