People here like to complain about the randomness that is the flood. Granted it does have a lot of spam, but it's the most enjoyable forum here.

This man, this man right here put it so eloquently that I actually cancelled my own 2000+ word long post.

The Reach Forum gets loads of criticism.

It gets the most.

And for right reason.

What are we supposed to be discussing here?

The Reach Forum gets loads of criticism.

That and because the Flood has a lot worse stuff on it.

Now get in the van.

The Black Chapter

It has its moments, but that is basically just a few people doing parodies or spam attacking.
It being a forum, you notice when spam threads pop up. Most of its users are probably almost tolerable.

Except me, I'm a delight.

The Flood isn't nearly as bad as it had once gotten in the 6 years I've been visiting it. Immature, sure, inappropriate, often, but never just a constant steaming heap of people bragging about being 'pro' or 'good' and thinking that statistics in a game make their opinion more valid than that of someone else. The weakest forum has always been the game forum of the latest ip (Zanzibar/Halo 3/Halo Reach). If I had a dollar for every time someone posted 'adapt' in the Halo Reach forum, I'd be crushed to death in a avalanche of dollar bills.

You don't do a very good job at it. You should probably take some pointers from Rampancy.

Because the Flood is filled with loons, idiots, and overall assh0les. That's where I like to hang out a lot. I'm one of those idiot loons who likes to be an assh0le.

The world is not beautiful: And that, in a way, lends it a sort of beauty.

~Kino's Journey

Because the flood is a scapegoat for hate, contrary to popular belief the flood is full of intelligent people and meaning full discussion.

But right now gatenks or something is on a meatspin link rampage, can teh mods clean that up?

Do me a favor snipes, since you obviously know the rules better than me, where do the rules say inb4 and other memes are bannable offenses?

Thanks.

Wait, inb4s are allowed?

Then why the -blam!- was I banned?

Quite ironic I was banned for spam by preventing spam.

I actually liked playing against the flood, I dont se why everyone hates them. Its a cool feeling fighting against them because theyre zombies but in a futuristic way. I think 343 should make halo 4 mostly forerunners and flood. The flood have been in every one of the Halo trilogy but were never the main enemies the games are all focused on the covenant and theyve been the main enemies for 6 halo games, I would like a change.

Haven't seen a QFT in forever!

But on topic taking pointers from Rampancy is a good idea.

If you "inb4" something, people are less likely to post what said person inb4'd. Potentially preventing spam.

I doubt that ever happens and if it does, it hardly ever does.

I agree. It's not "preventing spam" -- people can still say whatever you inb4'd. It's not a spell.

Stupid ass washing machine...

Don't know what you mean, OP. The Reach forum gets panned constantly on this site, and for good reason - it's a crazy noobfest over there, and your chances of reading a good thread are damn near impossible.

The Flood, to me, feels like a home on this forum. Once you get past the Bronies (sorry guys, just personal preference. I'm sure MLP is wonderful in your eyes), idiots, wrong-forum-posters and John Cena, there's generally a lot of interesting discussion and I actually think a lot of what I read and post on The Flood has helped me a lot when discussing issues in real life. God knows you learn how to form an argument pretty darn quickly... or else.

The Universe pre-Halo: CEA and Halo 4 was also a great place, and largely still is. Pity it's so quiet though (not as quiet as The Classfieds! Tee-hee-hee!)

I know, but usually if someone says "inb4" they're usually trying to prevent people from saying what they inb4'd. Especially OPs. I only consider inb4 to be spam if they say something that will inevitably happen like "inb4lock".

No they aren't. They're trying to be the cool kid that gets in before that thing. It's the equivalent of a first post. Someone who says "first" isn't attempting to prevent all other comments, just to look cool.

  • 09.25.2011 1:14 PM PDT

I highly doubt that when you say "inb4" you're doing it for the purpose of "preventing spam." You're trying to look quick and witty, as Snipes said, by appearing to be able to tell what other users are going to post.

C'mon, now, we can discuss stuff, but don't bull-blam!- us. :P

The Flood is like a volcano: you're more likely to get some burns, a bad back, and a wasteful experience than find something worth the trouble.

That's probably because I've been there far too often, though. Once shown something new, you're more likely to build up negative information about it than good.

If the OP says "inb4opcan'tinb4", it's because he doesn't want anyone to say "OP can't inb4".
