What is your wishes for bungie.net so bungie can check this out and add it into there site.

I wish for.....

1. Have your own avatars
2. Change your name
3. Have a search option in the forums to find a thread
4. Buddylist
5. Check to see who is online

I'll come up with more as I think about it.

All of those are great. lets hope Bungie do give everyone there own avatars, or allow us to register our own. though it would be a mammoth task as there are quite a lot of members.

1. Have your own avatars
2. Clan support for Xbox LIVE Halo 2 (don't even start LtDevon ;-)
3. More in-deapth member powers
4. The ability to change your title (Member. Moderator, ect.)

I got my own forum site where you click on your profile and it says upload avatar. That is all they have to do.

Have your own avatars
The ability to change your title (Member. Moderator, ect.)

Both open to abuse.
Change your name
Good idea in theory, but then you lose track of who's who. Plus morons could use it to seem like new members.
Have a search option in the forums to find a thread
Already on the list.
Buddylist
Good idea, perhaps tied in someway to the Live buddy list? Like seeing which of your Live friends have b.net accounts?
Check to see who is online
Possible with the old crapness chapters, so maybe with the new hotness chapters.
Clan support for Xbox LIVE Halo 2
Already plans for it, as part of Live 3.0.
More in-deapth member powers

that would be cool to change your title to something else but not to mods. i dont think that they would like that plus they do a lot of work, and people who arent really mods, might take credit or impersontate them for their own ends. i dont think we give the mods enough credit, although sometimes they got on my nerves, there cool.

yeah you might have your own forum etc but i tohught you meant your own individual avatar. i mean that would be cool, if oyur looking for someone, then you only have to look for the avatar.

It probaly wouldn't matter who you were looking for if you had them in your buddylist. You guys could probaly make it where the list automatically changes the name so you know whose who.

I was thinking of some kind of feature that could give a regular member the ability to, for example, be able to see staff only posts without actually being a staff member. (or the ability to let someone to bypass the submit queue for news stories without being a staff member ect, ect.)

isnt that basically just given you mod powers?

Sometimes I wouldn't like for someone to have to be "staff". I'd like for them to be a "member" but with a single extra power. It would be so much easier to make everyone in my chapter be able to submit news instantly without making every single one of them chapter staff.

Aah, for the Column. Well, maybe as part of the group system upgrade the team will allow you to grant more individual privileges to certain members.

I'd prefer if the forums were given an overhaul, as the software currently being used isn't very good; the pages take a long time to be generated, for one. Understandably, dynamic pages shouldn't load as quickly as static ones, but having to wait 10 seconds for a forum page to load (on a fast connection which has no problems with UBB and Invision software) is far too long.

It doesn't take that long to generate a page, maybe a second or two on my computer. Anyway, about the overhaul, if you had been here in the days of the old Bungie.net, you'd know that they used the threaded view instead of what they use now. And it took maybe three or four minutes for a post to be seen after it was created. And the overhaul was only last April, so it'll be awhile before anyhting new happens again with the forums. And don't use IE, takes far too long to load.

I like your #1 and #4. That would be a nice feature, being able to instant message someone on b.net. Plus, it would take away your #5 because then you would know who was online.

I agree, though it needs to be in your profile and not out in the open.

Unless you meant only for chapters...

They used to have a post count, viewable to everyone, before it got taken away to after you hit the preview button when making a post. Then that got taken away as well. There was some problem of members thinking that you could get some sort of award or something for enough posts, and too much trouble spawned off of it. And any form of noob is banned Macaulay (Macki_Chief).

The security role system allows you to create and name security levels, in addition to altering the security privs of both members and non members. And the names of those security levels show up as the titles in the forums.

At least they will when the system goes live.

You guys are going to be surprised with the sheer amount of differences - literally everything has changed.

UBB and Invision would both suck under the kind of load we have. I don't think you understand the sheer amount of posts we have - since April 12th, we've had almost 70000 posts. Think about that for a little while.

We are working to improve the performance of the forums, but it takes time.

In just 5 months, member totals have rocketed by about 70000, too. So that just makes it even harder.

I love not having post counts. Cuts down on people posting just to boost their own egos. One of my favorite things about B.net is that it is so different from every other fansite. It's simple, yet extremely effective.
I also think a lot of our opinions will change about everything as our relationship with B.net evolves with the release of H2.
