"Die? Didn't you know? Spartans never die."

We all know he's the last surviving memeber of Noble Team, but what exactly happens to him? He's never even mentioned until Halo: Reach. And if he doesn't have a point, why not just kill him off like the rest of Noble Team?

Your one stop shop for all of 343's fabulous errors and ridiculous notions in the Halo lore.

He's dead.

The Halo series was my first and favorite FPS series.
I enjoy most games throughout all systems despite what some people say.

Oh, and on the forums, I tell it like it is, like it or not.

Everybody dies, that's why Master Chief is the last living Spartan.

"I will show you how a true Prussian officer fights!"

"And i will show you where the iron crosses grow..."

- "Cross of Iron"

He died protecting Halsey.

We’re flawed because we want so much more. We’re ruined because we get these things and wish for what we had.

This.

I think Bungie felt bad for killing the rest of Noble Team so they decided to leave at least one of the members alive. I think it gave them a little comfort knowing that not everyone died.

He died protecting Halsey.

If that was the case, then Halsey should be dead too, but shes not. Shes on Onyx. And if he was with Halsey after Reach, he should have been at least mentioned in First Strike.

The book was made before the game came out. How would he have been mentioned?

Jun locks his armor, and then after reach explodes, he keeps his armor locked and flies over to onyx right before it turns into the dyson spear where he joins forces with the onyx sentinals to fight the Nelkrons who are an ancient enemy of the fore-runners, but were eventually defeated and all trapped inside a giant prison until the halo array fired which freed them.

The nelkrons are biomechanical life forms with the power to convert energy to matter and matter to enercy at will. They are able to mutate any way they want, but their appearance generally esembles a mechanical humanoid with a birdlike head. Somewhat similar to the myrs from magic the gathering.

Some claim he rescued six at the last moment and escaped Reach with him.

That would conflict too much with canon... Bungie would NEVER do THAT to their food-nipple succling baby... If they did that, i would probably cry myself to sleep every night until the game was declared not canon...

The person who said participating is important, not winning, obviously never won anything.

He died protecting Halsey.

This would be the most logical explanation.

But there is absolutely no evidence or anything of the type that tells nor shows that Jun is dead.

Bungie essentially left him an open story for possible future exploration via DLC or novel or who knows.

It's all theories, but you cant claim him to be dead unless there is evidence.

  • 09.25.2011 7:03 AM PDT

He probably joined the other spartan II and III on onyx so no. MASTERCHIEF is not the only living spartan in the universe.

  • 09.25.2011 8:46 AM PDT

Generalizations.
Helping idiots hate other idiots since people have existed.

The truth is that We Don't Know.
All we know is that he escorted Dr. Halsey to Castle Base.

-Speculations Begin Here-

All information comes from Halo: First Strike.
SUMMARY: Jun accompanies Halsey to Castle Base and participates in the events of Halo: First Strike, and eventually arrives on Earth to assist in its defense.
---------

William-043, Vinh-030 and Isaac-039 were at Castle Base during the fall of Reach. They were soon joined by Fred-104 and Kelly-087, as well as Dr. Halsey. It can be assumed that Jun accompanied her into Castle Base.

When the convenant breached Castle Base, the Spartans destroyed the facility to protect its data and escaped into the titanium mines below. Jun would probably have accompanied them into the mines, with the covenant in hot pursuit.

Through a long series of events and battles, they are all eventually rescued by John-117 after he escaped from Installation 04. It is possible that Jun survived the battles and escaped with John, Kelly, Halsey, and others.

It's possible that Jun survived all the events of Halo: First Strike, and if he did, would have accompanied John, Fred, Linda, William, Johnson, and Cortana to Earth, where he would have participated in the Battle for Earth in Halo 2.

This is assuming that he never died during the events of Halo: First Strike, but it's possible he was killed off somewhere along the way.

I think he dies eventually, but what if Bungie made a Halo game focused around Jun, all leading up to his death. That would be cool.
