Subject: So... heard the mention of B.Net in my local nightclub

Yes, there're too many numbers in my name.

I've personally never heard a stranger talk about b.net, but my brother and I talk about it all the time in public.

I only talk to two people about it in person.

You imply a level of control over Halo: Reach matchmaking that we no longer have. Or, in your vernacular, it isn't our shiznit anymore.

I lol'd at the absurd miscommunication that occurs whenever dibbs post something. Perhaps his brain is so highly evolved that he can no longer clearly communicate with lesser life forms, even among his own species.

Pretty cool.

I was recently visitng family in Washinton State in the Bellevue area and in a local bar, I met Jason Jones. It was pretty surreal since we were talking about B-net and about Bungie's next game and he came up and sat next to us and said "I believe I know a little something about that." We turn around and there he was. Pretty cool
Jason Jones... in a bar... approaching strangers to talk about Bungie.net. From everything I've ever heard about Jason Jones, this story sounds completely likely and doesn't ring false at all.

On topic: I've never heard strangers talking about Bungie.net in public except at PAX, where, of course, I heard it all the time.

Disclaimer: Half of this post is sarcasm.

I do not believe the OP was being sarcastic.

Can't tell if sarcastic

Has anyone been acknowledged wearing a Bungie.net T-shirt?

I have spent the last ten years lost in deep space. If you are reading this message then please send a signal beacon.

My friends and I always talk about video games in public; We talk about Bungie.net at times too.

I was a finalist :P

I am sure at least a few people I have met and/or seen know about the site, they are just afraid to discuss it. Wait, what is there to be afraid about? I must share my knowledge of Bungie.net with the world and find others who live near me.

This man, this man right here put it so eloquently that I actually cancelled my own 2000+ word long post.
/slow clap for respect

:)
The person who said participating is important, not winning, obviously never won anything.

Never in my life. None of my IRL friends go on B.net, that I know of.

It'd be awesome if I met with a fellow member in the nightclubs were I live out of pure coincidence.

I'm going to invade your heart like a barn swallow high on milk chocolate and grandma love.

Fairness is only possible within the limited powers of man. Elsewhere, there is only chance.

Thus I refute thee.

We must find what their b.net usernames are, OP.

And the Shadow fell upon the Land, and the World was riven stone from stone. The oceans fled, and the mountains were swallowed up, and the nations were scattered to the eight corners of the World. The moon was blood, and the sun was as ashes. The seas boiled, and the living envied the dead. All was shattered, and all but memory lost, and one memory above all others, of him who brought the Shadow and the Breaking of the World. And him they named Dragon.

OT: Yeah, I talk about Bnet here and there but my friends just give me the "I'll pretend I care to shut him up," look.

Unfortunately not.

I've got friends IRL that know about it, and I have said "Why not go on sometime?" but then they always say about how they don't want to/don't see the point.

Would this be Katy Daly's in Letterkenny? Halo is very popular around here.

In a time long past, the armies of the dark came again to the lands of men. Their leaders became known as the fallen lords, and their terrible sorcery was without equal in the west.
In 30 years they reduced the civilized nations into carrion and ash. Until the free city of Madrigal alone defined them. An army gathered there, and a desperate battle was joined against the fallen
Heros were born in the fire and bloodshed of the wars which followed and their names and deeds will never be forgotten

If you are going to bring up b.net at a local club or bar, at least say you are a mod. Who knows, it might get you some action....

By action, I mean a wedgie.
